Welcome to The Warren Restaurant, an extension of The Crowborough Estate, holding stock of Sussex Cattle, Boer Goats, Fallow deer, and Wild boar amongst others which the restaurant draws on for its menu. We are a Dog Friendly restaurant.

Given the provenance, the kitchen predominantly cooks British food, occasionally dipping into other cuisines to provide a vehicle for flavours – nettle gnocchi for example, or poached oyster with wild boar chorizo.

WE wanted a unique fun and informal restaurant, to offer their Crowborough Estate’s produce from. When the site of the renowned Signor Franco’s became available, with those iconic arched windows of its orangery and glorious terrace overlooking the Spa town, the stage was set.

Very attractive 1st-floor setting with excellent views over Tunbridge Wells' Old High Street from the bright and airy conservatory-style main dining room. Spacious, warm, nicely furnished and decorated, comfortable chairs, crisp white linen. The charming and comfortable inner dining room has a fireplace with a cheerful gas fire, very inviting on chilly days. A pleasant bar for pre-prandial drinks. Terrace for alfresco summer eating. Well-maintained lavatories. A stair-lift from the ground floor is a considerate touch. Overall a "destination" ambiance. The set lunch menu at £26.95 for 3 courses from a varied selection and the à-la-carte are excellent value, decent portions nicely cuisined and presented. The wine list is well-curated and sensibly-priced, with good bottles from less than £30. A warm welcome and attentive but not overbearing friendly service complete the picture. Tunbridge Wells is not over-supplied with quality restaurants - The Warren is a thoroughly enjoyable experience, very much recommended.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious as always. Wine on offer was disappointing as they'd run out of several from their menu. Vegetables were scarce, would prefer more choice, and have a selection of vegetables in a separate dish. Seating is comfortable, but tatty, my chair, the fabric was torn.

Really odd place - from the tacky green lighting going up the stairs, to the strange vibe inside. The photos online look beautiful but it was freezing cold in the restaurant (on a Friday night), and the decor made it feel like we were in a themed medieval experience, rather than somewhere that actually looks nice and good quality. We were originally given just a wine by the bottle menu, and when we asked for cocktails and wine by the glass, the cocktail menu was extremely odd. They were inexplicably 80s themed and both of the ones we had tasted appalling, like they were made by someone who had never had a cocktail. There were also so many flowers in the drinks it looked really weird. The food was ok but service was really slow, and we were so cold we just wanted the food a bit quicker. Overall wouldn’t return, the food was worse than your average pub and the overall feel of the place was really off.

Terrible! Service was slow & didn’t know the set menu to help with choosing. I couldn’t stomach the starters of 3 venison meatballs. They had the texture of glue & in a sauce of sultanas which was revolving. The main course was horrible too. Hard cold Chicken stuffed with Haggis! Not detailed on the menu. I could eat it either. Venue was cold. Had to eat when I got home.

For us personally the food really wasn’t very good. I don’t want to say over priced as dining out is generally expensive anywhere I just think based on thier prices they think they are better than what they actually are. I’m not saying service or food was awful by any means it was all just lacking. sirloin Steak was cooked as asked but not a great bit of meat and the venison type stew really didn’t have anything special about it. I think it could’ve been any meat and I’d not have tasted different. Snails also were served in a very oily sauce that had little flavour. Like I say I’m not complaining as such but I don’t think I’d return based on this visit which is a shame as most reviews suggest this is a place to go for a nice meal
