The Washerwoman, located on Glasnevin Hill (called locally Washerwoman's Hill due to the local story of washerwomen out on the hill with their mangles washing clothes in the Tolka river!)has been a well-loved and treasured restaurant in the area for years now, and is housed in a charming stone cottage which dates in part from 1700.
The menu, befitting of a neighbourhood restaurant, is ideal for a special occasion (think Cote De Boeuf, poached trout, mullet or lamb round)OR a casual dining experience. with healthy and accessible foods for kids , a host of diner classics for teens and big kids(!), and a great weekend brunch offering.

                                  This was a lovely place to catch up with a few friends. The menu was varied and good value and the special starter was lovely. There was an excellent selection of wines and the service was fantastic, warm and welcoming. Even though the place was busy we got our food in super time.

                                  Small cosy hidden gem. Its simple yet fantastically cooked food is paired with delicious wine. Great service. Will be back!

                                  As always we couldn’t be happier with the service, food and environment. We love going to The Washerwoman restaurant. Every time we can specifically when we know they have a new menu we book a table to enjoy the experience. If anyone is looking for a cozy place with good food we always recommend The Washerwoman restaurant.

                                  Went for dinner on New Year’s Eve. We were seated upstairs where we had ample space in a warm cozy environment. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Food and wine was delicious and good value for money. Will definitely be returning.
