Based in Greetham, The Wheatsheaf is 6 miles from Oakham and 4 miles from Rutland Water. Carol and Scott took over the Wheatsheaf in March 2008. The seasonal Modern British menu changes weekly. The wine list is based on wines from around the world with a good selection by the glass. We also have an excellent selection of beers and local cask ales.

In 2021 The Wheatsheaf was a new entry in The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastro Pubs and was also awarded The Michelin Red Plate.

We are closed on Mondays and Tuesday except Bank Holidays.

    The starter portions were impressively generous – the parfait and the meat platter were absolutely huge and perfect for sharing. For the main course, the pork belly was cooked just right, tender with a beautifully crisp crackling. The beef was cooked pink but slightly on the chewy side. A standout feature was the Yorkshire pudding – the biggest I’ve ever seen! Overall, a hearty and satisfying meal with portions that won’t leave you hungry.

    Fabulous food as always. Service is just the right level - attentive without hovering. Party ranged from 11 to 84 & something for everyone on the main menu. Highly recommended.

    The menu was very good,spoilt for choice. This is the best Sunday roast i have had in a long time. Would like to make this a regular venue. Portions are excellent.
