Live Jazz at the Whitby Bar is returning every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm. Enjoy classic Negroni cocktails as you listen to live jazz music from The Sam Taylor Trio.

For our Afternoon Tea service, please book via Open Table through the EXPERIENCE option. To confirm your afternoon tea reservation, we require a credit card for our cancellation policy. Should you cancel within 24 hours of the booking, a $50/pp cancellation fee will incur.

Served on Kit Kemp's beautiful Sailor's Farewell Wedgwood china, enjoy delectable finger sandwiches, including smoked salmon mousse, Egg salad & Truffles, selection of mouthwatering cakes and homemade scones with clotted cream and preserves. $75 per person or $95 including a glass of Joseph Perrier. Afternoon Tea service reservations are booked through the experience. We ask you to cancel your reservation by 10pm the day prior. We have a 5 minute grace period in case you are running late. Lovely afternoon tea in a fabulous hotel - we loved it! Annie, our waitress, was absolutely lovely, warm and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The two ladies who greeted us on arrival for the afternoon tea were less friendly and welcoming. Lovely food though - well done Whitby!

This was my second time coming here for afternoon tea and it was extremely disappointing and will be the last. First we got seated near the bar and was told that I didn’t specify in my reservation that I was coming in for afternoon tea. The food was far below average and definitely not worth $75 pp - most of the sandwiches were bland and some were soggy, the clotted cream was all melted when it arrived for some reason, desserts were terrible, and the server never refilled the water for my tea.

Service was terrible but all else great otherwise. I don’t think I’ve ever left 10% tip in my life—until today. She was so inattentive I left without coffee and dessert which I really wanted bc I was celebrating my birthday.

Very disappointed in how we were treated from the moment we arrived. The restaurant was empty yet it took them almost 15 minutes to get our table ready.

Special price fix dinner was expensive for the quality of the food. Wine was ok but not exceptional. Service was very good and accommodating. Not a memorable dinner.

The ambiance is lovely, the service excellent, and the tableware and presentation are outstanding. However, I didn’t find the food particularly tasty. The cookies were nothing special. Unfortunately, both bread rolls were sweet, and I regret that at least one wasn’t made from regular leavened salty dough to pair with cottage cheese or crème fraîche.

Decor & setting top notch. Wait staff attentive, kind, & friendly. High tea was a fantastic experience w/ our 11 y/o daughter. Would love to come back for dinner service. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed in the staff. Too rushed and even though I said no pork I can't eat it, he still tried to insist it was only a little bit that they put on it. I had to keep repeating myself and reiterating I cannot have any no matter how small it is. He also gave us issues when we wanted to pay in cash after another staff member said "of course you can pay cash". Place is beautiful, food is great but our server really ruined and put a damper on our morning.

English tea at the Whitby is enjoyable and the interiors by Kit Kemp are exceptionally beautiful. It was busy but noise levels were low, so conversation was relaxed and easy.
