   Food was great. Service was quick and polite. Nice atmosphere, busy but relaxed. We went for a late lunch, so was starting to fill up at the bar when we left. Definitely would recommend.

   We booked a table for 4 for food and then a table after in the winter garden afterwards. Drinks were ordered when we arrived but they arrived after the food and also missing when they did arrive. The waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable and helpful as my wife has an allergy but he made her feel relaxed in what she could order. We received poor service but it was not down to the waiter that served us. We then tried to order more drinks and was told we will have to go to the bar ourselves and when we did was told no you have to go to the other bar at which point we just decided to drink in the main bar. Not really worth booking the garden.

   Planned a Christmas evening with my friends, waited for 10-15 minuets to be seated being ignored by staff. Finally we were sat down to which we waited 45 minutes for our first drink then had to ask the staff to take our food order. Service was terrible and we were not checked on once for drinks, over 3 hours we were served two drinks. Staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful, when it came to taking the bill the waitress couldn’t work this out and my friend had to do so for her. We were then told it was only bar service so left the table to go get a drink (we waited another 20 minutes). When we returned the waitress who we had just helped sort out bill then rudely told us we couldn’t sit back at our table. We spent the whole night being ignored by staff and the only time they were attentive was to tell us we couldn’t sit back at the table. The overall aesthetic is lovely but I would not recommend visiting at a busy period as you will only be disappointed.

   Great experience at Refuge, one of the best restaurants in Manchester. It has been a while since I last visited but it did not disappoint, the food was tasty and the service was attentive. Our needs were met and we were not rushed. The setting and atmosphere makes this place. The prices seem higher but it is worth the trip, the menu also seems to have reduced but still a great selection of dishes.

   Food was delicious, and ambience amazing as always! Slow drink service as the waitress didn’t understand our drinks order - Large Pinot Grigio & Large Pinot Noir.

   Food arrived cold, waiter made whole theatrics of bringing plates hot but food was still cold. Beef had no flavour, potatoes were stale. Not the best roast dinner for 100£. Definitely worth trying somewhere else.

    We booked the Winter Garden as the website leads you to believe that you can have the full menu in there - you can't; it's just bar snacks. Whilst it's a beautiful room we did want to eat before the gig we were going to, so we asked the server to be moved to the main dining room. We'd had two drinks in the Winter Garden and - understandably - before we moved the waiter wanted us to settle the bill. He added a £2.50 service charge even though we were going to be eating in the dining room! We ate our food - it was average, served in good time etc. A further service charge of £6.95 was added, but we were then asked verbally and on the bill if we would like to leave a 'Gratuity'? Gorgeous building - former Refuge Assurance building - and would have loved to have explored it a little further.
