   Dined here this evening and ordered the pie, after being told it was steak and ale pie. It was steak and kidney. Which was unpleasant as I don’t like kidney at all. The restaurant was absolutely freezing with the couple behind us being asked to move to try to get some heat from a radiator which then we discovered it wasn’t actually on. I had a goose down coat on the entire time I ate, the other poor girl who moved was buried in layers and even kept her scarf on. We asked for orange juice for my daughter and were given some vile bitter concoction of mandarin and apple juice, which was truly horrid and bitter, without being asked if that was okay. After asking for the bill we left the full amount in cash within the holder provided, and left the change because it was so cold. We headed to the car and were chased down by a member of staff who accused us of not paying for the food. I have never been so insulted as to be accused of stealing in public. I have been here regularly in the past and will not be returning.

   We came for a roast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were welcoming and attentive. The place had a great atmosphere too.

   We ‘ve always had a sensational lunch or dinner here , the Steak & Ale pie was exceptional today. Staff always engaging & attentive , I highly recommend.

   At 3pm there was no roast beef left- only halfway through their food service. The lack of beef was not communicated until we were ordering. The waitress had a really poor attitude. Drinks order not taken. In the end we left without eating

    Lovely pub set in gorgeous countryside. Food was DELICIOUS and the staff were all very attentive and helpful. Thank you for a lovely family Sunday lunch - we will be back!
