Food nice overall but a lot of menu had run out and this wasn’t made clear before we chose. Service was also slow but we put that down to it being Xmas.

I think there must’ve been very busy in the kitchen or short staffed because we (seven of us) waited 1h 40 for food from arrival time. Also, the portions of chips with the adult meals were remarkably small but on request they provided us with an additional bowl of chips. Lots of the things we requested like garden peas instead of minty peas and garlic sauce on the side instead of on top, no ice in the drinks were forgotten/omitted. The food was nice and the staff were polite, but the evening was marred by the extremely long wait for food.

We had Christmas lunch here, the food was really fantastic and the ambience was lovely. My one criticism is that the Christmas menu promise of "champagne on arrival" as part of the fixed price turned out to be an offer of a glass of prosecco. We all know there is a difference (and I happen not to like prosecco) so this was in my view a misrepresentation. Did not let it spoil our meal and everything else was "as advertised" but disappointing nonetheless.

Food was excellent as normal, only thing we felt let down by was no effort done with christmas decorations on our table , specially as was a christmas meal.

Lovely, quiet pub. The food was delicious and they were able to flex to my dietary requirements. The service was good... attentive without being overly intrusive.
