It was very quiet when we went to Tiffany’s for lunch on Monday. I had a cheese and bacon burger. I liked the vegan Jaffa cafe. The had more cakes this time.

The afternoon tea was a delight. A wonderful selection of cakes that was more than we could possibly eat. The staff was kind and nothing was too much trouble. The dining room is spacious but relaxing. We would most definitely recommend this as it was a super price and a lovely experience.

At Tiffany’s they don’t have a dessert menu so we stopped at sanders on the way home.

After noon tea was very basic, slices of cheese and tomato , same with ham and beef and horseradish, scones nice, , flap jack nice and lemon drizzle nice, other 2 cakes big slices so , not conducive with afternoon tea, service very slow and unattentive, and this with only 4 other people in restaurant and 3 staff! No coffee choices other than flat white, unlimited refills bonus, special occasion of our anniversary, not mentioned, so no personal touch. Would I recommend, clearly No, so will need to up there game, as you also need to pay the extra pound each just to get on the pier.

It was a lovely place with lovely service; however, the quantity and quality of the food were very disappointing, given the price. For the Sunday roast, the vegetables consisted of a small bowl 10 cm in diameter, shared between two people, with one, yes, one small floret of cauliflower cheese each, half a dessert spoon of diced carrot, and other vegetables. Given that vegetables are the cheapest aspect, they need to consider whether profit on a neal is worth more than repeat custom and good advertising.

The restaurant was busy, probably due to the school holidays as there were quite a few young children there which added to the noise level, but it was ok. I had originally booked a table for two but we had an additional unexpected guest and the young waiter very kindly found us a larger table. We had the OAP special which had gone up in price since I was there last month but I’m sure the portions were slightly larger, and all the food was delicious.

Service was very reasonable. We were not asked about a dessert until after we paid the bill, too late then.

A little bit disappointed as we made a reservation initially for 7 but then tried upping it to 11 but we couldn't do this online so had to phone, which was all fine. I then phoned again to up it to twelve and ask if they could do anything special for us (as a surprise for my wife) as we were celebrating our fifth anniversary at the location we got married. The lady on the phone was great and said they would be able to do some table decorations and stuff and she would note it down. The problem came when we arrived and our booking was still for 7 - though this had been changed by phone TWICE and they had no idea about the table decorations or anything. To be fair the staff did all they could to host the booking of 12 despite being very busy, it was just disappointing that it wasn't already sorted as it should have been and the extras that I was told we could have were missing. The food was good except for some mould on one of the sandwiches (some of us had afternoon tea) which was quickly resolved with complimentary extra sandwiches - one of which was also mouldy. One of the meals was taken off the bill. So to summarise, the staff on the day did a good job and were very fair and helpful when the problems arose, but I am disappointed as the problems shouldn't have arisen in the first place.
