A trip to Barcelona nestled in Montréal's quintessential Outremont neighbourhood. Tinc Set ("I'm thirsty in Catalan) is Alma's sister restaurant, located right next door on Avenue Lajoie. Part of Canada's Top 100 Restaurants List, Tinc Set is a tapas and wine bar that specializes in fresh seafood, Barcelona-style roasted chicken and Catalan natural wine. Come for apéro or for a full dinner. Operated by husband-wife team, Chef Juan Lopez Luna and sommelier Lindsay Brennan, Tinc Set offers the finest selection of Catalan wines in Canada and the best churros (maybe in the world!) Our outdoor seating is first come, first served.

My first desire is QUIET, so I can talk without yelling at the person I’m with. This place is very small, rather rustic, and noisy. The waiter was exceptional. The food was delicious. But the prices were at least 30% more per item than necessary. Green salad $15???? $10 would have been more than enough. Also one of the listed ingredients was missing…. The rest was delicious but the scallops were not a main, as thought. And the wine price is exorbitant. I had taken my husband for a birthday dinner…wrong place, unfortunately.

Was asked to move from my table to bar at 8:00 from 6:30 reservation. An hour and a half to order and eat? Very poor service standards. Wouldn’t recommend.

Hi Inder, we are so sorry to read your message. We are a busy, casual neighborhood restaurant and there are two seatings, which we do indicate when you make a reservation. Upon noticing that you and your guest wished to take your time and upon assessing the situation, we wished simply to accommodate you by offering you two seats at the bar were you could linger. This allowed you to stay well over 3 hours, and this also allowed the 8:30 reservation of 3 people to have their table (which they also reserved). We are very sorry to hear that you were insulted by this gesture. We are not able to make this accommodation for all guests and suggested the change at a point in your meal that we assessed most optimal and least intrusive.

La nourriture est incroyable. Petit bémol sur le vin: il serait intéressant d'avoir plus d'un seul choix de vin au verre (1 blanc, 1 rouge, 1 mousseux).

My friend and I completely enjoyed every selection we made from the menu. Service and ambience was perfect and the ratio of value to cost was perfect too. Will definitely be back.

Wonderfully prepared dishes -fresh and flavourful. We asked our server to prepare a tasting menu with the half octopus and she did not disappoint. Asked our wine preferences and make a great recommendation for our meal. Fantastic service from the many employees who assisted our main server. Would return and recommend!
