Welcome to TJ's Bar and Restaurant.

We are located at Parkfoot Holiday Park by the shore of Ullswater Lake, a short walk from Pooley Bridge.
We serve fresh home cooked food, burgers and steak from the grill and also have a busy takeaway service serving homemade pizzas and other tasty alternatives.

Please Note

We only reserve our restaurant dining area, the bar area is a first come basis and will not be reserved for entertainment.

We operate on a card only basis, cash will not be accepted. Food and drink from the Restaurant is ordered separately.

Our first meal at this restaurant and we were really impressed. So much so than rather than go into Pooley Bridge we have booked another two nights meals here

Beautiful meals with a lovely atmosphere!! Only thing I would say was to introduce table service due to being so busy! But 5 star from us 👌

Nice spacious place. Food very good and cater well for gluten free. Take dogs too

Nice place but too night, could do with better lighting, no background music, would benefit from some background music. Good basic and simple does the job after a long day when you are too tired to cook.. Staff nice.

Very thorough with allergy information. But this made choice from menu very slim which was very disappointing. My chicken dish came out looking like it had just been zapped in the microwave, very disappointing. Chicken burger was fine my husband said. Staff were helpful and polite. The design of the restaurant and bar do not allow for any kind of ambiance sadly.

It’s such a shame, as the food is good (when it comes) and the staff are doing the best with the hand they’ve been dealt with. We have an annual car meet which is great fun and brings a unique collection of cars for all to see to the camp. As a group we booked well in advance and whilst we all weren’t eating at the same time, the kitchen had advanced notice of the numbers and timings. To cut to the chase it was over and hour and half from ordering to receiving our food. It had been a long day and we were all hungry, so after the third chaser I spoke to the manager directly to find out why our wait was so long. The response was take aways had been busy as had the walk ins. My response, which at the point of being very hangry, was to politely ask why we were deprioritised vs those who hadn’t made prior arrangements to get fed within an acceptable time period. I don’t work in catering, but it’s common sense that if you can’t accommodate the prebooked servings, you shouldn’t be taking walk ins or handling take aways - the response was they agreed and it’s something that’s been pointed out to the owners and they are hoping ‘the system’ changed. I feel really sorry for the staff, they do their best and are clearly being let down by the owners - the food is nice when it comes, but at that point I was passed caring. Very disappointing and had it not been for a member of the group paying for the table, I would have escalated to get money off or a significant discount. Please get your priorities sorted and help your staff to deliver better results at TJ’s.

We have been eating in TJ's for 3 years running and they never seem to get it right. We book tables - that's not easy, we order food in advance, again not that easy. They never seem to have enough staff on and despite ordering food in advance they still cant get it right. We ordered 12 meals in advance and it took them just under 2 hours from sitting down to getting food, and even then they forgot one meal completely offering a bowl of chips instead as they said they could'nt guarantee that the missing meal could be served. To compound it the staff were'nt particularly friendly or helpful - which is'nt what they are normally like to be honest. Overall - very dissapointing.
