The reviews for this Toby were not great however we thought we'd still go and were rewarded for our perseverance. Good food and the biggest meat portions ever. Lovely staff in spite of the place being really rather busy. As good as any of the the other Toby's we've visited so please ignore the bad reviews and just go.

Lack of vegetables, potatoes available, having to ask for fresh, lack of staff only one chief serving far too much for one to do to cut the meat and restock.

Have been to many Toby Carverys always been pleased, but your restaurant surpassed the rest, from the moment we arrived having booked on line we were looked after, your staff were very attentive. The choice of food was excellent and very tasty, your Carvery meats were of a good standard, throughly enjoyed by our party. The restaurant was extremely busy being the schools half term, which did make it very noisy at times, the waitress coped well under pressure, well done . We shall certainly sing your praises and return in the near future. Thank you.

We have been visiting this eatery for a number of years, looking forward to each occasion. In view of the foregoing are able to track trends , both actual and perceived.These include the state of the toilets, particularly the gents which include very worn and dirty paintwork. There is also a perceived reduction in waiting staff judged by a longer than previously experienced interval between stages after finishing our main Carvery course. I am sure we are not the only people who, after finishing the meal are anxious to pay the bill and get out to the fresh air and stretch our legs.

More lights are needed out side at night.it feels unsafe and I was frightened. Overall tops for us

The restaurant is tired, run down and in need of a good clean. Service was ok, staff polite enough, but rather slow. Drinks took forever to arrive. Had to wait quite a while to be served at the carvery. The man serving was saying all the right things but sounded like a robot, especially when you have heard him say exactly the same thing to 15 people before you. We were also seated near there, so had the same script repeated throughout our meal. It is enough to drive you crazy. Food was average at best. Meat rather tasteless, potatoes were good, and vegetables were a bit mushy and bland. There was no English mustard and horseradish not enough for one person and was not replaced while we were there. A disappointing visit and one we will not repeat.
