Four of us went for a authentic meal. The vegetarian options were very good. We even had pudding

We wanted a casual mid week dinner, and we got it. Screaming babies, children in few clothes helping themselves to (more) soft drinks nearby, and just-about-clean serving areas. My meat was flung across the serving bar, missing the plate, flicked onto it (admittedly that area was clean, but....) and handed to me. (no, there wasn't a queue, so no pressure to serve quickly). The veggies were nice, but most had a sauce on them, only 2 were without. The gravy was very salty, so not really as much choice as we would have hoped for, for anyone looking to eat healthily. We declined the puddings, still slightly stunned by the shrieking child nearby. The waitress was okay, polite and professional, but not surprised when we said 'no thank you' to desserts. We left her a tip.

We always enjoy Toby carvery the food is always fresh hot and tasty . Excellent staff always Very pleasant and polite.

The roast dinner is always well worth the money and we always come out well satisfied. Good place to get together with family and friends.

Good food, decor a bit dated. Service was prompt. Great to have a roast and be able to eat promptly

Upon arrival and stating my name and table reservation the manager told me that we hadn't reserved a table as "they don't bother to look at the table bookings through this site". I told him that I had phoned 3 times prior and no one picked up and he said "yeah we just ignore that". I said that this is unnacceptable and that the service shouldn't be advertised if it's something they don't act upon. After recognising that I was clearly distressed by the situation and that I was in happy to wait for a table for "one and a half hours" he then seated us in about 3-4 minutes. Upon walking to the rear of the restaurant I was very annoyed to see a number of empty tables that had been laid but not sat at. Had I of not said that we were unhappy to wait for so long for a table then we would have been waiting an age when there was ample seating available. Disrespectful old git, clearly unhappy that he was marked on the rota for the Sunday shift.
