   Steph and Hugo are seller! The food overall looked appetizing. We just had the chicken dish which was incredibly dry but otherwise we appreciate the rest of our food. Main complaint is that I left an item behind and I’ve been trying to call the restaurant for days. Emailing them and calling them without any response. That’s a bummer …:((

   The hostess was not thrilled to be at work. The food and cocktails were very bland (for the price). Our waiter was great. Lots of restaurants in Scottsdale to choose from and I probably wont be coming back.

   We went to Toca Madera with high expectations. When we walked in the noise was at nightclub level. It appeared to be more of a nightclub with food than a high quality restaurant with a great vibe. Once seated our waiter was kind and welcoming. The tequila list was expansive which we were excited for, but our first two selections were out. Our third option was good but not our first picks. We ordered the tuna appetizer and it came out with an excellent presentation and the flavor to match as well. Highly recommended. It was the highlight of the night. From there, it went downhill. We ordered the American Wagu Ribeye only to be told almost all of the steaks were gone besides the 6oz filet and the A5 Wagu. We ordered the filet and truffle fries. The filet was cooked well but was not what we wanted. The fries were underwhelming, while looking and tasting like Arby’s fries with some truffle oil on them. This is when the evening turned bizarre. There was a roving electric guitar player laying down the exact same riff over and over again which was piped into the house EDM music. He went table to table like a roving Italian accordion player. Then a fire eating woman who appeared like she came directly from a local strip club did a routine which was entertaining felt like it belonged more at a Cirque du Soleil than at a highly rated restaurant. Toca needs to decide who they want to be. Food driven experience with incredible service or nightclub, bottle service entertainment venue. Many guests were clearly over-served and having the time of their lives but we were very disappointed.

   I had a friend visiting from out of town and we both had heard good things about Toco Madera so thought we'd give it a try and so glad we did! The layout and ambience is very inviting. We were first seated at a table in the center of the venue which ended up feeling a little drafty(just the way the airflow was in the exact spot), so we asked our served if we could move tables and she gladly assisted in getting us a more comfortable spot. And our server(Jordan), wow she was the best! Super sweet, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about menus items and just everything! The food and drinks were incredible. We tried the watermelon and passion fruit margaritas, along with some sipping tequila-and have to say the watermelon was definitely a favorite! If you like spicy I'd highly recommend the sashimi Mexicano-so good! We also tried some different tacos-all of which were unique and tasted great. Highly recommend Toco!

    Always our favorite place to celebrate birthdays as well as just to get together with our family! The service, food and atmosphere are always top notch!!!
