Top Roe, Austin’s original handroll bar, offers a unique blend of Japanese cuisine and Southern hospitality. Created by Executive Chef Paul Qui, our space includes an intimate 12-seat handroll bar, an izakaya-style dining area, a bar lounge, and a private dining room.

At the Handroll Bar, enjoy a 30-minute dining experience where every roll is made to order and served immediately to ensure the nori stays crispy. Seating is first come, first served. Limited reservations available at the handroll bar, walk-ins strongly encouraged.

Our izakaya menu features hot and cold dishes, including sashimi, yakimono, and agemono, paired with an extensive highball selection.

Fox Tail, our whiskey bar lounge, highlights Japanese whiskeys, sakes, house-crafted highballs and cocktails, and bar snacks in a relaxed setting.

For special occasions, our Private Dining Room accommodates 7-12 guests.Contact us for personalized menus, pricing, and memorable events.

Our handroll bar has 12 available seats, and is a 30-minute dining experience. Pre determined sets and a la carte available. For our Handroll bar, limited seats are available as reservations and walk-ins are strongly encouraged. Parties of 3+ at the handroll bar may need to be split and sat at different times due to limited seating.
Izakaya
Multiple dates available
Top Roe's Izakaya, a place to enjoy bar snacks and drinks in a dark and moody atmosphere. There's a robust sound system in the space adding to the Izakaya vibe. It caters to groups who want to enjoy classic Japanese offerings like sashimi, tempura, yakitori, and maki sushi rolls. Handrolls are not offered at the izakaya, but will only be available at the Handroll Bar. A selection of Japanese-inspired highballs, sake, and beer are offered for drinks .

Ambience and service was great but the hand rolls were only so so as personally I’m not a fan of the rice not being seasoned - the hand rolls are made with plain warm rice instead of sushi rice (with vinegar, sugar etc.). Just my personal preference. A cool place to check out otherwise!

Top Roe is a new must visit spot in Austin.! The Handrolls were amazing, service was fantastic, and overall great vibe. I came for their new lunch but look forward to coming back for dinner.
