Toro, in Boston, helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef, Ken Oringer, serves delectable Spanish tapas dishes in its contemporary and charming restaurant. The tortilla Española with a kale, egg, potato and onion omelet and the Boquerón's white anchovies in vinegar and olive oil make excellent pintxos starters. Some of Toro's most vibrant and delectable tapas plates include the chicken empanada de pollo with charred tomato salsa, the salt cod fritter croquettes de Bacalao with tempura lemon rings and the asado de huesos roasted bone marrow with oxtail marmalade. Equally inventive cocktails, such as the morning star with spicy gin, dark rum, citrus and ginger beer and the tinto de verano with red wine mixed with lemon-lime soda.

Toro's weekend brunch plates include the salchicha y huevos jalapeno maple sausage, fried eggs and crispy potatoes and along with other plates, make it a prime brunch spot.

After years and years of eating at Toro the experience has become mediocre. Too loud , too cramped , too repetitive, too expensive . However …The Verdé Y’ amor is still he best drink in Boston

Great ambiance and vibe. Batata delicious and crisp. Cooked to perfection. Shrimp bursting with flavor. Delicious cocktails. Place is small and loud. Mostly high tops. Good casual place to hang out with friends.

Food was fantastic, so thrilled about the veggie paella with tofu. Would be great to have a place to hang coats, and if it was a little less loud- it was hard to have a conversation without raising my voice

We were seated promptly & our server immediately checked in with us. Very attentive service from the entire staff. She suggested staging the presentation of the many small plates we ordered & we left the sequence to her. As always, the food was tasty, right-sized, and nicely presented. It was quite loud, given how close the tables are together the loud volume of the music being played. Be prepared! I highly recommend Toro for a great night out.

Food was overall great, as expected. The biggest disappointment was ambience. I was hoping to be transported to Spain but the music was 80’s American pop and it was too loud to comfortably have conversations. It was very dark for reading the menu. Might be better for summertime, only for outside patio.
