Toro, in Boston, helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef, Ken Oringer, serves delectable Spanish tapas dishes in its contemporary and charming restaurant. The tortilla Española with a kale, egg, potato and onion omelet and the Boquerón's white anchovies in vinegar and olive oil make excellent pintxos starters. Some of Toro's most vibrant and delectable tapas plates include the chicken empanada de pollo with charred tomato salsa, the salt cod fritter croquettes de Bacalao with tempura lemon rings and the asado de huesos roasted bone marrow with oxtail marmalade. Equally inventive cocktails, such as the morning star with spicy gin, dark rum, citrus and ginger beer and the tinto de verano with red wine mixed with lemon-lime soda.

Toro's weekend brunch plates include the salchicha y huevos jalapeno maple sausage, fried eggs and crispy potatoes and along with other plates, make it a prime brunch spot.

Food wasn’t the best. Way too loud and way too crowded. Too small of a place, would not recommend or return

The food here is always amazing! The paella is done correctly with a slightly burned bottom (Socarrat ) which if you haven’t had paella in Spain that’s correct way! You can have the Maíz Asado off the Cobb which is a game changer!!! Drinks are a bit pricey but worth it. Can’t wait to go back

We often scheduled Torro into our Boston trips as it was a family favorite. Unfortunately our last visit was very disappointing. The atmosphere and service was as good as our visits before however the quality of the food was no where close to our previous experiences where we couldn’t stop ordering more from the menu. Safe to say we won’t be going back.

The food and service were amazing, I’d been so excited to come here for a while and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The only thing I have to critique is the music that was being played. The decor and ambiance is such a cool vibe, it seemed like some fun Latin/spanish music would’ve been more appropriate versus random 2000’s pop songs (Nicki Minaj, Usher, etc). My boyfriend and I kept wondering what was going on with the music choices, not sure if this is typical or a one-off scenario. We still had a great experience and would love to come back but wanted to note the room for improvement!

Outstanding service. Very good food. A little pricey. Ambience is great, but a little dark and loud for some tastes. Overall tremendous place. Would highly it.

Server was friendly and helpful. Ambience nonideal - facility was nice, lot of exposed brick, but we were sat 10min after our reservation beneath an incredibly loud speaker. It was frustrating not to be able to talk to my partner on Valentine’s Day without shouting, and the collective shouts of people facing the same issue exaggerated the volume. Food was incredibly, almost comically salty. Duck was almost crystallized with salt. Judging food by edibility, I have had substantially better meals at far less expensive restaurants. The ingredients were clearly good quality and presentation was nice, but the salt was so overwhelming that it crowded out any other flavor. Even the cheesecake was too salty to finish. The other reviews are so overwhelmingly positive that I suspect this issue was limited to the Valentine’s Day prix fixe, an understandable issue given the high volume of clients that night. I write this mostly to flag that people should not expect what I presume to be Toro’s usual quality when the “tasting menu” gets whipped out on holiday evenings, as here.
