This is my go-to neighborhood gem in the Mcpherson neighborhood. It is far enough out of the way to keep tourists out, it is tucked away downstairs but feels like a local NYC Italian restaurant.

Recently returned from Piedmont and wanted a good Italian dinner on a visit to DC. Had never been to Tortino before but thought we’d try it. Very glad we did! Food was excellent and authentic. Pasta was handmade, and the braised lamb ravioli was the same as in Milano. Great friendly service. Reasonable prices. We will return. Highly recommend.

What a gem, unpretentious and delicious. A nice local spot, definitely worth a visit. Even wine/cocktails are reasonable. Not cheap, but good value without fussiness. Would return if staying in the area.

Our dishes were simple but extremely well executed. I had the fettuccine bolognese and my partner enjoyed the chicken Parmesan. Tables are a little too close together for my liking and there’s no cushions on the wooden seats, however. Other, Would recommend.

Excellent Italian food! The risotto special was perfect. The lamb and duck are great. The whole place is the real deal. Not pretentious or fancy, but white table cloth, friendly, relaxed, and top quality food.

Tortino is my go to neighborhood restaurant. Pasta is my favorite food choice there, all made on the premises. Last night we with a beautiful chocolate dessert. Tortino is like a taste Of Italy in downtown DC
