We ordered a variety of sushi and sashimi and were thoroughly impressed with the quality and variety. We particularly enjoyed the chutoro, otoro, snow crab and the Japanese scallops. Fish temperature and sushi rice were spot on. We also loved the decor. A quiet oasis once you enter from Ashford Ave. To top it off, the service was impeccable - attentive, warm, and professional. This place is a must-visit for sushi lovers!

I felt like I spent $300 for $80 worth of food and service. The biggest issue is the rice. The chef is sincere and nice. But, he doesn’t seem to have necessary know-how to get the rice right, which takes years to master. The rest (ie fish) is just plain average. They brought miso soup at the end. It tasted like literally miso paste you buy at a Japanese grocery store mixed in hot water with some cube tofus. Good thing about this restaurant is, the service was good. They tried hard and we liked it. But, I will not return to this restaurant for $300 Sushi Omakase for two. But, I can come back for a box-bento with 6 piece sushi for $40. For that, I could give 8.5 out of 10.

If you're searching for the most authentic sushi experience in Puerto Rico, Toyosu is the undisputed destination. While we didn't opt for the omakase, we were blown away by their extraordinary selection, over 25 different types of fresh fish for sushi and sashimi. No other restaurant on the island comes close to offering this level of premium Japanese variety. Just take a look at their menu and compare it to anywhere else in P.R. This is the ultimate destination for true Japanese sushi lovers. We will be back!

I cannot recommend this sushi restaurant enough! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The sushi here is simply outstanding—each piece is a perfect balance of fresh, high-quality ingredients and skilled craftsmanship. The service was equally impeccable. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to make recommendations tailored to our preferences. They made us feel truly welcome and valued. The attention to detail, from the ambiance to the food and service, is unmatched. It’s clear that they take pride in delivering an unforgettable experience. Insider Tip: Be sure to sample all their bluefin fatty tuna options—they’re lux!

I’ve tried the rest, and this is by far the best and only authentic sushi and sashimi available anywhere in San Juan. You can taste the freshness in every bite. Sushi moriawase had Japanese conger eel, snow crab, scallops from Hokkaido, king salmon, Japanese sea bass, bluefin tuna, and more. The chef was very generous with bonuses as well. The service was exceptional.

I am Japanese and have had extensive experience having sushi in Tokyo. The quality at this restaurant was outstanding. It is clearly different from the fake sushi commonly found in other parts of the U.S. The uni (sea urchin) and chutoro (medium-fatty tuna) were particularly exceptional. Chef Jeffrey was both kind and professional. If you want to enjoy authentic sushi in Puerto Rico, I highly recommend this place.

First time in Toyosu and i was very pleased with the food service and atmosphere. I made a last minute reservation at the bar, Jeff greeted us and Fidel treated us so well. Ordered a the Lovers Moriawase For 2 and left very happy and satisfied. Will definitely come again and take pictures of the food! Highly recommended!
