Trattoria Zooma is now Trattoria Appia. We are the same ownership, team and location and continue to pursuit of the highest quality local and DOP Italian ingredients to prepare simply as our ancestors did. We serve Authentic Neapolitan recipes in a traditional, modern and casual atmosphere with seasonal "al fresco" outdoor dining and fresh house made pasta. Offering an extensive menu of award-winning wines that includes many exclusive selections and flights so you can enjoy an impromptu wine tasting anytime. Trattoria Appia is also available for private parties and corporate events with custom menus, wine lists and seating arrangements. We offer free WiFi and free valet parking.

Open 12 pm to 10 pm Wednesday through Sunday, 5 pm to 10 pm on Tuesday. Closed Monday. For parties larger than 6 please call us directly 401-383-2002 or email events@trattoriaappia.com to better accommodate and answer questions you may have.

Food was great as usual. There was an event in Providence and the restaurant got slammed. Service was slow and off due to this event. Gave our server a break as this is not the norm for Appia.

Waited over 1 hour and 20 mins for our food on a Sunday at 5:45pm. Our appetizer never came. We inquired multiple times and tables around us did too. Ridiculous - terrible service and clearly the manager didn’t care.

I have an allergy to onions. I asked if there were onions in the tomato sauce and they said yes. The waiter said they could substitute with olive oil and vegetables. when I received my pasta dish, It was loaded with scallions so we had to send it back. I never got to eat the dinner and left the restaurant without eating while the person I was with was able to eat their entire dinner while I was still waiting for mine. We were attending a show at the Civic Center and arrived at the restaurant two hours before the show preparing to walk 10 minutes down to the Civic Center after eating. at6:25 I still didn’t have my food and we needed to leave to make the 7pm show. I requested to see the manager. He said he would get it to go so I guess I could eat it while walking to the civic center. This one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at any restaurant. The waiter took our original order and never came back to the table. We had to flag him down when the food did come to request silverware and napkins, and had to flag him down twice to ask where the order was. Not worth the trip. Won’t be going back.

A very busy night due to a show in town Our entrees were greatly delayed..arrived 445p and got the entrees at 615p Mine was lukewarm..our table was in a bad location with all traffic bypassing..I think they forgot about us until we inquired Still love the restaurant but hoping for a better experience next time.

We will definitely be coming back here! Amazing experience, they even wrote a card and left it on the table for my boyfriend’s birthday!

Honestly, I'm not sure what's happened to Appia/Zooma and I don't understand all the positive reviews but we had the absolute worst dinner last night. It was almost like there wasn't a chef on the line. The Rinforzo salad was clearly pre mixed. We had NO figs, 4 tiny beet pieces and barely a tsp of gorgonzola. The caprese salad looked like my 12 year old son plopped a lump of mozzarella and 4 tomato quarters on a plate with 2 large basil leaves. The salmon smelled and tasted fishy, and again had 4 SMALL pieces of beet in it (not even a quarter of a beet). It was all swimming in a thin, and bitter soupy sauce. Definitely NOT a glaze which is what it was supposed to be. It was ineatible. The Bolognese looked and tasted like ground hamburger meat was mixed in a tomato sauce. We appreciated the service and the manager coming over to us but honestly there are way too many excellent Italian restaurants in RI to have a bad meal. We won't go back.
