Trivet derives from the age-old cooking utensil - an iron tripod placed over fire to support a cooking pot or kettle - reflecting the warmth and balance which forms Head Chef Jonny Lake and Master Sommelier Isa Bal’s values for the restaurant, as well as their working relationship.

From the very beginning of the creative process, Jonny, Isa and the team think about how food and drink work together. The menu features their explorations of ingredients, dishes and drinks from around the world, inspired by the culinary history and diversity around us. The wine list is set out chronologically, following the historic beginnings of wine to present day, with over 350 wines from classic producers to the New World, as well as acknowledging the root of viti-vinoculture with wines from Georgia, Armenia and Turkey.

As well as the welcoming main dining room, Trivet has a terrace, wine bar and private dining space. Monday nights transform into the LaBombe Wine Bar.

    For events in house, Trivet offers tailored set menus for formal and casual seated dining, standing snacks and canapés, paired dinners for wine events and special in-house events such as chef collaborations and Canadian Thanksgiving! Jonny, Isa and the team can also offer off-site catering upon request.

    Trivet can offer a variety of event experiences, for up to 30 guests seated in the private dining room (the 'Mustard Room'), or around 50 guests seated in the main dining space as a whole venue hire. The whole restaurant, with bar and terrace included, is a flexible and dynamic space, ready for meetings, tastings, celebrations and more.

    We are now open for a very different Trivet experience, fully realising our Wine Bar potential on the most (we think unfairly) moaned-about day of the week! We would love to welcome you on Mondays from 5pm-11pm for drinks, with a special menu available to order between 5pm and 9.30pm, to help you ease into the working week (or enjoy your day off if you’re a fellow hospitality worker). The full Trivet wine list will of course be available to explore, as will our cocktails and other drink options, including some incredible wines by the glass. Online bookings can be made for parties of up to 6 guests.     Disappointing that the wine bar menu was no longer available as we hadn’t really wanted Michelin style food or service. Everyone super nice though and food good but expensive

    Trivet is a rare restaurant in that it is one of the few Michelin 2 stars that do not have a tasting menu. This is a very welcome change as you are able to craft your own unique experience at the restaurant. The food coming from this very well-oiled kitchen is exquisite, technically proficient and incredibly interesting. The service is casually perfect, with all the hospitality and technical knowledge one would expect from a 2 star restaurant without the formality and stuffiness that often accompanies those accolades. The wine list is endlessly fascinating with bottles from regions that will surprise and delight even a novice oenophile. Jonny Lake and Isa Bal, along with their dedicated team, have created something precious precisely because it is not.

    I came here on the recommendation of a review in the FT weekend magazine- Tim Hayward. The food lived up to his description. We were fortunate to have one excellent waitress who also helped with the wine menu, which was very well thought out and presented from 7000 BC to 3000 AD! Loved it!

    I don't think this restaurant performed at a 2-star level when we ate lunch there. The food was tasty, well prepared though not particularly surprising modern-style cuisine. The focaccia was undercooked and gummy in places. Service was decent but not overly attentive, and I had to go looking for someone to bring me my coat at the end. You shouldn't take customers' coats if you can't bring them back in good time. The next day my wife and I were sick, and I can't be entirely sure it was due to this meal but do have some suspicions given the undercooked bread.
