   Elegant ambiance, attentive wait staff, delicious food, comfortable furniture, relatively inexpensive for the total experience, highly recommended

   Excellent on all accounts, EXCEPT several large groups made the environment more of a beer hall of loud parties yelling across long tables. If you don't want to talk to your dinning partner, this is a perfect restaurant. Management and Service was as outstanding as the food.

   My husband and I had a one night stopover in Glasgow while on business, we recalled dining at the Buttery 2 years ago while visiting Glasgow and we were very excited to return! Our experience was fabulous and matched what we remembered from our prior visit. The food was fantastic and the service did not disappoint. We will return anytime we are back in Glasgow for a visit from the US.

   Walking into the restaurant was stepping back in time. Ambience and decor reflected another time and place. Seating on a wall bench was comfortable. Could view much of the restaurant and diners as I was solo. Even full the restaurant was not noisy. I had Cullen skink which was warm and delicious. Bread choices were interesting including a chili bread, but I chose an onion. Main course of trout was presented well and was delicious. Asparagus and hollandaise sauce was excellent. The asparagus was done al dente so had flavor and substance. Dessert was a meringue with strawberries and ice cream. Why don’t we in the US have these delightful meringue desserts? Light not too sweet and flavorful with fruit and sauces. All in all a wonderful and memorable dining experience. Highly recommended.

   Location was very convenient from our hotel; food was great and service was very good. There was a group dining beside our table so noise level was moderate. Overall, very nice place to dine.

    Very classic/traditional style Scottish restaurant (with tartan carpet). Great food and service. Was a delight to eat there and we were well looked after from start to end.
