   The Ugly Duckling is the highlight of my dining experiences in Victoria BC. Dining here is an experience for all senses, from the restaurant design, lighting, their welcoming Chinese Milk bread and made in house butter, and every dish in the set menu. The delicacy on the presentation of their dishes, the nuance of flavours, the integration of local ingredients makes Chef Corbin and his team of Sous Chefs top contributors to our local food scene. The cocktails are brilliant, transforming Chinatown inspired flavours into liquid in the most creative ways. The service is the cherry on the cake so to speak, you truly feel regarded and every person bringing something to your table is curious and engaged, not intrusive though and genuine. It feels like everyone enjoys being part of this team, and every bite tells you as much. This restaurant and team delivers consistently, and it has truly won my heart, becoming my top recommendation for fine dining in Victoria. This is the place where I celebrate everything worth celebrating and more, as each time they find a way to add a personal touch to my experience there. Highly recommended!

   Amazing!! Outstanding dining experience, all around!🤩👍Lets start with the food: simply superb! If I could, I would give 10 stars. Every course was absolutely delicious, offering high-end craft and ingredients, beautifully presented, the flavours impressive. The menu was so well created, each course added to a complete and gorgeous experience. The service was equally superb. Professional yet personal and attentive. Our server went the extra mile to make us feel so welcomed and well taken care off. What impressed us especially was the team spirit, it felt like everyone there cares so much about the restaurant just like it was their own. If you’re looking for truly high-end, fabulous food with genuine service from the heart you have to eat at the Ugly Duckling!!

   This charming restaurant located near fan tan alley is a hidden gem. We opted for the tasting menu and wine pairings. Each course was expertly executed. The wine was perfectly paired with each dish. We came in for our anniversary, and were greeted by a personalized menu recognizing our special day. everyone on the staff came by to say congratulations, was friendly, very knowledge and paced the meal perfectly.

   Food was delicious, original, memorable and very satisfying. Highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent service. Very nice wine list of BC wines by the glass. Fantastic.

   I’m so glad I chose to celebrate my birthday at Ugly Duckling. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and every staff member was kind and friendly. The food was impeccable. I loved every single dish on the tasting menu, and even the dessert was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place!

   This was a delightful tasting menu. Well presented and perfectly cooked. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Not an average dinner out, but definitely for a celebratory event. The wine pairing was well chosen. Lovely ambience. My only comments might be to have someone quickly acknowledge guest arrival. We waited at least five minutes without even a nod. The wrinkled rough napkins seemed out of place with such fine dining. And lastly, the excellent chef who delivered the courses had the worst looking kitchen towel ever hanging from his apron. These are small things, I realize, but they make a difference. A delightful dinner otherwise. Thank you.

   Creative and delightful menu with thoughtful wine pairing. Superb and knowledgeable service. Definitely worth the journey. Already trying to “hatch” when we can return.

    Fantastic meal! Every course was delicious. The halibut was our favourite. Service was great! It’s expensive but very special.
