Ula is a beautiful European Mediterranean restaurant and tapas bar in San Francisco. Sip your martini or quality wine with a seafood-centric menu that has a focus on raw, roasted, and grilled fish and various roasted and grilled meats, pasta, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan selections. The restaurant is maximalist art deco with fixtures that depict jellyfish, oysters, and grand maritime vessels. Just a hop from Union Square, the delightfully vintage dining room begs to be paired with a nostalgic trolley ride and a stroll through the heart of the city. Enjoy an elevated service with your breakfast, lunch, and dinner meetings during the JPM conference. During breakfast and lunch, all guests will enjoy continental breakfast buffet ($75++, coffee, juice, breakfast included) and power lunch ($75++, two-course menu). Please note, breakfast and lunch meetings are charged hourly per guest. During dinner, all guests will enjoy four-course dinner menu ($125++, no dining limit and no hourly charge), with choices in each course and gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan selections. Cancellations within seven days of the reservation will result in a per person charge of $50. Cancellation policy will also apply to cancellations due to COVID 19 and all health or travel related circumstances.

- Food was very good - tapas allowed us to try multiple small dishes - and we enjoyed them all - Service was attentive, but not obsequious - Decor was interesting in a good way

We had not been here in a while and the experience has declined substantially. I will say the food is good but the service is awful. We wanted to sit in the back area but it was completely closed off for some reason so we were in the drafty cold front part of the room near the bar. Wait staff was too busy socializing and drinking to be attentive. We could have saved a bundle by going to an actual bar where you expect the waitstaff to be so-so. The 20% tip is included which I’ve not seen before. I usually tip 20% or more for good/great not mediocre service. I’ve not seen mandatory tips added for 2 people, that seems rude. With so many great places in the city don’t waste your hard earned $$ here.

Expect too much something good but really disappointed- honestly NEVER go back this restaurant NEVER!

Overall great experience. Our server, Casey was fantastic and had a great attitude. The Paella needs a little work.

Official first date for me and my new guy. Christmas Eve Dinner was great. Service was awesome, live music was really good so was the food.

I haven’t been in this venue since it was Faralon and the new owners got lucky with the space & thankfully kept the decor. The food selection is decent but the food is overall moderate. Service was ok.. no attention that wine glasses were empty so we poured ourselves! Focaccia bread came with butter but says evo on the menu. I also didn’t like that 20% service charge is automatic added to the bill and the server did not mention that. Will we return probably not as I feel there are other options downtown that you get better value & come away satisfied.

Wonderful bar - great specialty cocktails. The decor is beautiful. Dinner was excellent.

My husband and I came in before seeing Hamilton, to celebrate our 20th anniversary for getting engaged, at this place, when it was Farallon. The only positives about this place were our nice waiter, and the decorem. Our tuna tartar came out with basic pita bread (nothing special), our garlic shrimp appetizer was super basic (didn't even taste like garlic - we could have done better at home), and our salmon entre came out rare...salmon was not cooked! We sent it back, paid our bill and left. They didn't even acknowledge our special occasion. Unfortunately, will never go back there, even though it's where my husband and I got engaged. So sad :(

Cons: although I listed one of our party as gluten and dairy free, it was not addressed at all. The food was pretty bland, except for the scallops, those were delicious but the other 4 dishes ordered were absolutely not worth their minimum $25 each. The service was attentive and okay initially but halfway through dinner, he barely spoke to / acknowledged us, did not say thank you, have a good night etc. I can only assume it’s because tip is included (35%) and so he didn’t try anymore. Pros: the music was good. The decor is interesting. I would not recommend Ula to anyone and wish I never went and spent $250 for that experience.
