Ulu Kitchen by Merriman is an ocean front restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service featuring local ingredients and recipes created by chef Peter Merriman.

We have indoor and outdoor dining options, with a full bar, and the most prime dining views in all of Ka'anapali. The breakfast menu features classic favorites like Eggs Benedits, omelettes, pancakes, as well as some unique dishes like the cure (breakfast ramen) and our Hawaiian chilaquiles.

Lunch features our signature smash burger, fresh ahi tuna poke bowl, tempura battered fish and chips, and a fresh local veggie wrap.

Dinner has a seafood forward menu featuring Ahi Sashimi, Grilled Tako, Scallops, Mahi Mahi, Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli. From the land we offer a USDA Prime Beef Filet Mignon, Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Cheeseburger, and Maui Nut Venison Loin.

Beautiful location and exceptional service. Don’t order the lobster app. They said it was 8-9 oz of meat. It was 5 (chewy) bites plus a claw.

Food was tasty, the Westin is absolutely beautiful. Service was standard, Nothing exceptional about it. Esthetically the experience was great.

Anyone who has been to Hawaii has paid too much for a very average meal or below average meal with an ocean view. Especially in Maui. This wasn’t that. Ulu Kitchen had an interesting menu and was expensive but not outrageously so, especially by Maui standards. We made a reservation an hour before and were seated at a table parallel to right the path separating the restaurant from the beach. Importantly we were elevated a few feet above and maybe 10 feet back so it felt very private. Super attentive service from Loran who had a great command of the menu. My wife and I split a main (surf and Turf Duo) pairing a 7oz filet with lobster ravioli, mashed potatoes, beans and a bit of salad. Spectacular especially the ravioli which are harder to find than a good steak. We ended up trying 3 appetizers : Tako Escargot which is bits of poached octopus prepared escargot style and served in an escargot tray. Superb. Also the Manila Clams - the broth was excellent and the clams tender and fresh. And finally the crab cakes which were average but served with a nicely green cream sauce with a little kick. We would go again tomorrow just to eat the ravioli. Nice ambience although it can get windy and there is live music from 5 different places going on in the background. But we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

My entrée was so small it appeared to be an hors d’oeuvre. It is no way reflected the price paid for it. Additionally, the Coconut shrimp was mediocre and, again, a very small portion. The service was excellent. The price was simply much too high, for what was received.

Great location. Beautiful venue. Great service. Very fast with everything. Felt like the food was good but not great and the prices made it feel just average. Average food for high prices.

Our server, Matt, was awesome!! The food was outstanding and we will be back on our next trip to Maui.

Lovely happy hour/dinner here. Food was delicious and the mai tais of course the best! Perfect place for sunset. A few feet away from the hectic whalers cove shopping area. Waiters very professional and helpful. All pupus at happy hour were great. Place gets busy right after sunset. We will return!

Party beside us of 6 adults and 10 children was totally out of hand. Restaurant personnel should have handled it. Adults got up and left to “continue fight” and left 10 hellions to run wild. Great food and service but questionable if I return.

We had a great time. We had our 1.5 year old with us and they were very accommodating. Our server’s name was Justin and he was very attentive and helpful. Food was excellent, especially the surf and turf duo / the lobster ravioli plates.
