   I love omakase. It is not a value proposition, but a very fun, special night. Umami Omakase was fun but the four of us agreed the food was "just ok". Many of the dishes had high quality fish but the combinations just didn't taste good.

   The omakase restaurant was an amazing and unique experience. The chef's selection of dishes was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared, each bite offering a new and delightful flavor. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance.    Absolutely amazing restaurant. The freshest, most delicious fish and sushi one could imagine. Starters if soup and closer with desert makes for a full meal. Each item was small and focused on a specific taste while the whole meal left us feeling filled. Would recommend to anyone.

   Wonderful food. Simply sensational. Each piece of fish is a work of art and the most scrumptious taste imaginable. Gary, the Head Chef, is charming and gracious and the entire staff works hard to make the dining visit memorable.

   What a wonderful evening! The food was absolutely delicious (sometimes we have had less than ideal omakase experiences elsewhere, when the food was almost TOO innovative and actually not that delicious!) and the chef and team were so warm, engaging and pleasant. Our family had a great time. We will definitely go again for special occasions. Highly recommend!!

   Nice place with some great food. Staff was very helpful and explained everything we ate. I have an issue how they calculate the suggested tip. They charge a 6% kitchen fee and then they base the suggested gratuity off the total amount for everything including this fee. It felt a little shady. Just pay people more and build the tips into the price of the dinner.

   Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff was great about describing the dishes and showing us the types of fish we were eating. The food was delicious and the staff very personable. Definitely sit at the counter so you can watch the show.

    This is such a lovely, delicious, friendly, authentic-meets-innovative, cozy, and service-oriented omakase spot. We enjoyed 18 courses over 2 hours on a Friday night, including their elevated sake pairing. Each course was explained in detail (including the origin of the fish), artfully prepared, and mouthwateringly good! The service was excellent - they kept the food coming at a regular pace but without making us feel rushed. They were so helpful with recommendations on sake and very patient and friendly as we shared stories from our visits to Japan. (Insert eye-roll here!) Besides the excellent overall quality of the food and service, what we appreciated so much was the fact that Umami Omakase accommodated (and on short notice) one of our party who is a vegetarian and has a couple of food allergies. I don't know if there's another omakase place in Boston that will do so - - some of the other new "hot spots" will not account for allergies or substitutions and tell vegetarians not to bother making reservations. At Umami Omakase, our vegetarian enjoyed both variations from the regular menu as well as unique dishes. Tempura, noodles, vegetables, soups, oh my! The chef and waitresses were so kind - continually checking to make sure all was okay and offering to replace any dish that wasn't a hit. (Note: They were all amazing.) If there was any complaint, it was that there was too much food! We ended the evening with a mango mousse that struck the perfect balance of tart & sweet, fruit & creamy. We sat at a regular table (really nice) but might try the sushi bar next time - that group looked like they were having a great time! Easy street parking on Mass Ave in Cambridge. Delicious, authentic food with a twist. Top-notch service that puts the customer first. There's a reason Umami Omakase is so highly rated and is one of the more established omakase spots in Greater Boston!
