What an unexpected surprise we found at UMI. Fresh off the plane in Honolulu checked for reservations found this as a option and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all. I would highly recommend this to anybody who’s looking for a light and very tasting menu. That gives you the option of an à la cart as well. We would highly recommend and look forward to going again.

Very high quality food, with an unique presentation and preparation. It was all good, till the man showed up, and I felt my bill went up a hundred dollars more. He started showing us bottles of whiskey, and started giving us samples and we were laughing and joking but not realizing that he was padding the ultimate bill, which was close to a 1000 dollars for 4 people. I bet my dad is turning in his grave. I never want to meet an owner or manger of a restaurant ever again in life. I feel used.

The service was outstanding. It’s just a wonderful place to sit and eat. And the food was great.

The food was absolutely delicious, the service very good! The price was very high for what you get so if you have nothing but money to burn, this is a great place!

We had an excellent breakfast experience here. All 3 of us, we ordered the set menu. Two of us had the papaya, which was perfectly cut and prepared and one of us had the yogurt and fruit parfait which was also very tasty. For the main courses, we had: loco moco, Croque Madame and an omelet. The execution and the flavor profiles were excellent. This was a very elevated, high end and pleasant experience that proved to be a great value as well.

This is probably the most decent restaurant I’ve been to in Waikiki. What a lovely experience from understanding the room, to understanding the food, to the excellent service. The poached lobster was excellent. Can’t recommend UMI highly enough !

This is one of favorite restaurants anywhere we travel. It's innovative, try the chef's menu, the setting is wonderful and the people are always gracious and attentive. We never miss Umi when we are in Waikiki or Honolulu. Thank you for another wonderful night.

Good food but very small portions for a lot of money and without the views or ambiance to support the price.

How does this restaurant a 4.5 rating? It’s a 5 on all counts .. Amazing experience and amazing food. A++++ This place should be a Michelin star for sure. i’ve been to many high end restaurants and the food really surpasses all expectations .. Would go back again and highly recommended ..

The food was absolutely incredible and the service by our sommelier, Lee, was top notch. He was very kind to us and treated us very well for our anniversary. Chef Vikram's food was so delicious and he was kind enough to chat with us briefly after our meal. He was very kind and humble. The rest of the staff were also very kind and helpful. HIGHLY recommend this place for the DELICIOUS foods and wonderful. Will hopefully come back with my parents and ask specifically for Lee again!
