   Had an amazing time and experience at Umi today. I cant say anything bad about the food or place. Everything i ate was absolutely spectacular

   Me encantó esta propuesta de Bar para degustar excelente comida y whisky japonés. Buen ambiente , excelente atención , comida deliciosa y buena música .

   The restaurant has a nice ambiance and is a great spot for a date, with a modern and inviting vibe. However, the portions are quite small, requiring you to order multiples just to try different sushi options, which feels inconvenient. Additionally, the sushi was brought out one piece at a time rather than all at once, making the dining experience feel drawn out. While the atmosphere was enjoyable, I probably wouldn’t return due to these issues.

   At first glance, Umi dazzles with its design and aesthetic. Every detail whispers elegance and intention. But alas, the whispers die down when the food arrives. They proudly tout themselves as Panama’s first hand roll restaurant, but if this is the standard, we’re in trouble. Let’s start with the basics: fake wasabi. Really, Umi? For the prices you’re charging and the fine dining image you’re chasing, the least you could do is give us the real deal. Instead, we get the green paste of shame. Then there’s the rice—soft to the point of mushy, lacking the essential balance of acidity that gives sushi its soul. It felt like someone forgot to read the recipe or assumed no one would notice. Now, the tempura fish. Was it edible? Sure. Did it have a good texture? Fine. But was it memorable? Not even close. If this is what Umi considers “fine dining,” someone needs to redefine their dictionary. It’s middle-of-the-road at best, wrapped in a fancy package that screams, “We’re trying too hard!” In summary, Umi is all style and no substance. If you want Instagram photos, it’s worth a visit. If you want good sushi? Go somewhere else.
