   Celebrated my birthday at Ummo, our server Madison was excellent and provided exceptional service!!! So impressed by Ummo and how much she went above and beyond! Lasagna is a MUST

   Lovely service and the decor is AMAZING! The prosciutto/burrata were delicious as starters. Lasagna is also very good and a very large portion. Really appreciated the vanilla birthday dessert. Would come again!

   We had a lovely date night. The espresso martini is just as delicious as everyone says! We had a pasta dish and a chicken dish, both were delicious. Our server was great and very attentive. Wonderful ambiance and very comfortable. We will definitely return.

   Was absolutely amazing one of the best dinning experiences I’ve had in Chicago, food was so flavorful and unbelievably well crafted so unique and felt the love of the art in the food! Jose, our waiter, was insanely knowledgeable and made the entire experience smooth and helpful! Will be back and recommend to everyone!

   *I’d like to preface the following with the fact the staff did try fixing the wrong with comp’d drinks and an 18% discount overall. But I didn’t go to dinner seeking a discount or a free drink.* Wife and I were really excited to try this place. We used to live right down the street and never had the opportunity. We arrived right at our reservation time of 6:30pm. We were quickly sat, right on time. It seemed our table wasn’t in a servers section, as we weren’t waited on for over 25 minutes and had to flag down a manager to order drinks and our food. We received our drinks and first course and only did then a waiter come greet us. For the price of the meal, food was mediocre at best. The Cacio E Pepe tasted like Alfredo from Olive Garden. The Tiramisù was more like a chocolate cake drowning in Amaretto. You could get drunk off of the dessert. Our waiter, although super nice, was trying way too hard to sell the food. He’d describe the food by describing other countries cuisines, all forgetting Italy. 20+ minutes in between visits to our table. He also claimed to be a sommelier. He couldn’t/wouldn’t tell us his favorite wine or region. Overall, I won’t return.

   I was so disappointed with the value at Ummo. All of the food was mediocre. The tiramisu was terrible. I couldn’t even eat it. Service was OK, but I really can’t stand when someone comes to swipe your plates the second you eat your last bite of food. This happened with every course and it made me feel like they were short on silverware or something. Unfortunately, would not recommend or go back.

    Overall, it was an okay experience. Probably won't go back again. A bit overpriced & basic food. The desert was okay. Our server was very nice but the hostess came off a bit rude. The scenery was the only highlight of the night.
