Upstate Craft Beer & Oyster Bar puts what it does right in its name. This is a place custom designed for fans of local small-batch brews and a well-stocked raw bar. The inside of the restaurant is as cozy and comfortable as one would expect, as it is a relaxed atmosphere similar to a sports bar in the off-season. One of the keys to Upstate's success is its commitment to freshness. So much so that there isn't even a freezer in the building as everything is brought in fresh daily.Obviously, the oysters and clams are what most patrons come for, and Upstate's selection of west and east coast varieties changes every day, depending on what is available. That's certainly not the only thing on the menu, though. Guests can try out shared plates of house cured salmon, crab cakes, squid salad and even sea urchin.

Always spectacular! Delicious! great service! And a wonderful owner who really cares about serving fresh seafood and creating a comfortable and affordable neighborhood restaurant. Love it!

We found this venue by chance. It was one of the best surprises with food, drink and oyster knowledge that far surpassed our expectations. We will be back the first chance we get.

For beer and seafood lovers only. Both are excellent. No salads, no fries, no frills. But the staff is friendly, the selection of oysters is impressive, and the prices are very reasonable.

This place is amazing we take a few trips to manhattan every year & this is our first time discovering upstate & we went back three nights in a row!! The ambience was phenomenal & so was the service & the food we would make a trip just to eat there. Can’t wait to go back!! The oysters are some of the best we’ve had in NYC and the uni, chefs kiss seriously. A wonderful place.

One of the best restaurants in the city... from the food to the service to the vibe, it's still one of my favorite places to go after living in the city for some time. The fish is always fresh and cooked in a fabulous, delicious way. The staff and owner are amazing - they give great recommendations and make you feel welcome. I can't wait to eat there again!

the beer selection can be bad. my favorite is unfiltered wheat beer. i think it goes best with oysters. the beer on tap is constantly changing and that's good. but often we have three IPAs, three pilsners and no wheat on tap. i think that's wrong. there should be at least one of each style of beer

This was my first visiting Upstate Craft Beer & Oyster Bar post COVID and while the space is smaller than I remembered, the food is still superb! If you’re in the area check it out, you will not disappointed.
