The Uptown Cafe is a Louisville original restaurant, established in 1985. Located on historic Bardstown Rd., guests can enjoy an elevated dining experience while looking out to the local nightlife. The Uptown specializes in delicious food featuring fresh ingredients and masterful preparation by the Uptown culinary team. Whether you’re ordering a multi-course meal or grabbing a drink at the bar, Uptown Cafe’s lively, upscale atmosphere makes it perfect for dining with friends, family, clients and business associates. I ask for my filet to be cooked medium rare and it was very rare, I ate it anyway, friends was same way but she could not eat it, they took it off the menu. Husband got the pork chop, did not like the taste of it at all, we all tried it and felt the same way, but that’s how they fix it, so could t complain. Our server was great.

Very nice place didn’t expect it to be so nice we sat at the bar which we loved and it was happy hour can’t go wrong first time there and definitely will be back

Not sure why this place has such good reviews, but everything we had was awful. The shrimp bisque was not even a soup, let alone a bisque, it was heavy cream and water with some shrimp thrown in. No flavor, no consistency, just terrible. The fried green tomatoes were so heavily breaded that the tomatoes couldn’t even be tasted. The short rib was tender, but extremely salty, and the two drinks we ordered were sent back to the bar, all you tasted was the alcohol, no mixing and blending of the flavors, just a bad dinner experience. Would not recommend and absolutely won’t return.

Firstly, the service by “Marty” was excellent. He was prompt, friendly and efficient. We were slightly disappointed by the more reduced menu choices, but did enjoy the Black Bean cakes and onion ring tower. Entrees included chicken piccata and chicken linguine which were tasty. The crab dip was slightly greasy but flavorful. Would enjoy the return of the previous menu rotating “special sampler” small plates.

Our food was good and the service excellent. I wish they had the rice pilaf and green beans.

This used to be a modestly price option with very good food served well, personally, with a smile. The menu is now limited, the price is not justified. BTW answer your phone
