In 1949, Uptown Sports Club opened as a neighborhood spot for locals on the Eastside to drink, bet, watch the game and hold court.
Uptown Sports Club has found its second life thanks to Aaron Franklin and a handful of friends united by their deep love for Austin. Same building. Same neighborhood. Same soul. Just thoughtfully reimagined for the East Austin of today.
Uptown is your home base for great food, coffee, cocktails and community. We keep East Austin hours. Serving up a Texan take on Louisiana homestyle brasserie fare and slinging classic cocktails from lunchtime ’til late-night. No rush. No fuss. Come as you are daily or nightly.

It’s rare to have amazing food and atmosphere with seemingly no effort …. The entire place is like your cool cousin’s place if your cousin was a chic Olympic rugby player that was also a James Beard chef. Enjoy Austin…. This place is a gift

Always a good vibe and time here. Almost always a table available to reserve but is a popular spot even during the week. Cocktails are fantastic. Menu is simple and not overdone. Great food

so cute, baby friendly, food was really yummy. our server manuel was so sweet, pls don’t ever take the hush puppies away lol

We celebrated our daughter’s 15th birthday yesterday at Uptown Sports Club. The service was very good, food was delicious and the ambiance was great! It was a bit louder than we anticipated. I would definitely come back for brunch.

Food was amazing. The drinks were tasty. Service when we went was seat yourself. Inside was a little noisy but not too bad. There was a great vibe. Been many times and has never disappointed

It was good, had oysters, gumbo and shrimp po boy. Beer wasnt cold, i think they said a fridge was out. Fun atmosphere but I had higher hopes on food. maybe i need to try other items.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by restaurant manager – Dan, who greets guests with his uplifting attitude to a vibrant atmosphere that perfectly blends the excitement of game day with the comfort of a welcoming space. Our server – Julie, and her colleagues are friendly, attentive, and make you feel like part of the family. Bartender Erika added a nice touch by treating us to one of her Super Bowl shot creations, a real plus. The food is top-notch—whether you're craving wings, Franklin’s brisket and fries, burgers, or something a little more unique, every bite hits the spot. They really know how to serve up great flavors, perfect for sharing with friends while guests watch the game. What really sets Uptown Sports Club apart is how it brings everything together—service, food, and atmosphere—for an unbeatable game day experience. I’ve found my new Super Bowl tradition, and I’ll be coming back every year. Highly recommend this spot for any game day, but especially the Super Bowl!

Looks good. Service is great. Food is crazy salty. I love salt so I made it work. Noise was next level. Closed our tab and went to Suerte.

As a New Orleans native living in ATX, I’ve been so excited about place & I’m a big Franklins fan…. But the thing you have to get right on a poboy is the bread, and the bread is wrong at Uptown. It’s on a small (compared to poboy sizes) pistolette. If it wasn’t supposed to be a poboy, then it would be an ok sandwich, nothing to write home about. What we did enjoy was the gumbo - definitely a fusion of gumbo and Franklins brisket!
