V Wine Salon is the epitome of the French wine bar experience.

Located in a beautiful heritage-listed building in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, cosy seats, high ceilings and modern decor reminiscent of Paris-by-night are paired with friendly, knowledgeable and professional service.

Co-founder and director Vianney Establet was born in prime Bordeaux terroir with wine in his veins, coming from a family of winemakers going back five generations, and honed his craft as a sommelier for over a decade in some of the finest restaurants and private members clubs around the world.

We pride ourselves on our eclectic boutique wine list (awarded two glasses by Australia's Wine List of the Year Awards), craft beers, cocktails and an impressive selection of gourmet cheeses and other French nibbles (see menu) making V the perfect venue for catching up with friends, dates, and after-work drinks. Wine to take home is also available from our retail boutique.

We had a lovely catch up at V Wine Bar prior to The Luke Combs concert on Sat 10/02/25. The hosts here are wonderful, friendly and warm, funny and charismatic. Great explanations of the wines and the surprise wine flight was a fun experience to do with friends. Even though the venue was busy, and the staff were under pressure we felt looked after and it was not too crowded. We would definitely return here again. Five stars!

One of my favourite places for a glass (or bottle) of something delicious paired with some beautiful snacks. The staff are wonderful and knowledgeable, extensive and quality wine with some outstanding cheeses and other amazing wine snacks. Beautiful little place - highly recommend

Love V. It's one of my favourite places. You can have great wine, cheese and just watch the world go by.

Even when hectic you feel looked after. Great spot and value is based all on what you choose to drink. With so many great choices take the time to try a few different varieties.

Our group didn’t eat on this occasion, but we were all very impressed and swore that we’d return on a regular basis. Immediately on entering the venue had a very cool, relaxed atmosphere. The decor was classy without being pretentious. The staff/owners are attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to the wines, some of which we’d never heard of before, and the wines……..wow! For very reasonably priced wines, they were mind-blowingly good. Can’t wait to go back again

Lovely find for a mid-week drink. Staff were friendly and engaging and music gave a chilled vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed a chilled rosé on a warm evening, accompanied by a delicious cheese plate. Will certainly return to sample more from the extensive wine list.

This was third visit to the Salon and no less enjoyable. The Salon has very fine selection of wines on the menu with a perfect pairing of food on offer to have while enjoying a glass or three. It is a ‘must visit’ spot for me on every visit to Melbourne.
