Experience winter in style with Van Acre’s exclusive Igloo Experience. Our luxurious igloos offer an elevated atmosphere, complete with stylish finishes, cozy blankets and adjustable space heaters. Relax as our dedicated staff serves our full menu, perfect for lounge-style dining and craft cocktails. Join us for a memorable evening in Wausau’s most enchanting winter retreat. Reservations are available in 90 minute blocks with a $150 food and beverage minimum. A nonrefundable $100 deposit is required and will be credited to your food and beverage purchase. Single checks only and 18% gratuity will be automatically added. Maximum capacity of 8. For changes and cancellations, please contact the restaurant directly.

Overall, the service was amazing, but the food was just okay. The smoked appetizer (salmon dip) was recommended; however, we found it to be too overpowering with its smoked flavor. For this place being one of the higher-end places in Wausau, the pizza was the star, not the main dishes.

Our reservation, my husband and I, was for my birthday. Jorden was our top notch server. From greeting us to explaining how things worked, she was patient and personable. When my husband spotted a really appealing table, Jorden checked to see if it was available, finding it was, enabling me to see my husband’s expression of joy. Seeing that smile, I knew the evening would exceed my expectations. Our wine selections, the Cig Zin and the Walla Walla Merlot paired beautifully with the Farm Pizza and half servings of the French onion soup and Caesar respectively. The vibe of the restaurant was very upbeat and energetic noted in observations of the entire staff. Just before the meal ended, Jorden presented us with a dessert menu to select a complimentary dessert. The chocolate cheesecake did not disappoint. Our first visit to Tap Acre will forever produce a smile when recalling my birthday dinner. Thank you to Jorden et al for an everlasting memory.

We visited for the first time this week to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. This is a very nice restaurant with a big city feel. Our server was professional but still outgoing. Time for food to table after ordering was good for formal dining. The filet I ordered was prepared as requested and a butter knife had no trouble cutting through it. Pricing was in line for a dining experience like this. With drinks, appetizers, meal, desert, and tip we spent $80/person. I highly recommend.

When we want a great experience for a special occasion or celebration we choose Van Acre. The staff makes us feel valued and important. Ryan the sommelier is extremely helpful and we appreciate his knowledge and recommendations. The food is top notch and we have never been disappointed.

Excellent service and delicious food. Thanks for making us feel special on my husband’s birthday. The card and complimentary dessert were both a nice touch. This was our first visit and we’ll be back.

Great food and great service, very consistent - we’ve eaten here many times and have always enjoyed it. Good bar as well, good atmosphere overall.
