Located just over the bridge from Anna Maria Island and the famous Coquina Beach State Park, the hidden gem of Longboat Key is Ventura's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar. You will find this friendly neighborhood gem tucked away in the corner at Whitney Plaza, a short drive from Sarasota and the Famous St. Armand's circle on the scenic Gulf of Mexico Drive. Ventura's is family-owned and operated, open for dinner seven nights a week. Join us before or after sunset, to enjoy homemade Italian dishes, hand-tossed pizzas, amazing deserts, a large selection of small vineyard wines, and a full bar to satisfy all your cravings. Indoor or waterfront al fresco dining is available. Private parties, wine tasting dinners, catering & special events are offered. Order ahead for full menu takeout and local delivery.

Hosted by Lara Damoli, granddaughter of the original Damoli winemaker, whose family has deep roots in Negrar di Valpolicella, Italy, dating back to 1623. Ventura’s continues to be one of our favorites on LBK for real homemade Italian. The owners are present and have a way of making you feel like you’re home for dinner.

We love this place! It is always warm, welcoming and delicious. It is just like eating with family - where the head of the household is a really great cook!

Meatballs and pizza were good, and the back seating area was nice and peaceful. Food in the Sarasota beach area is, however, generally overpriced, and this is no exception. Go for the pizza!

We had reservations for 5:30 and were promptly seated. Service was a little slow. The lasagna was very good. We will go back.

Busy holiday week night. Staff was attentive. Service was a little slow. There were several large family groups. I look forward to returning.

Michael the manager was great. He was very personal and attentive. He really made up for a very negative experience we had at another local restaurant earlier in the week. The food and the service were great and overall a good experience. We especially liked the white table cloths on all of the tables. A very classy atmosphere. G Mueller, Sarasota, FL

Our server Devon was outstanding. The salad and pizza were very good. Devon and the Bartender went out of their way to make me an excellent Espresso Martini! It was 5:30 so it was not very busy and very quiet yet a nice atmosphere…We will definitely return.
