Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Veranda boasts "outstanding customer service" and a vibrant atmosphere with live music. Diners relish the "absolutely delicious" seafood, particularly during lobster night. The staff, notably Anoop and RJ, enhance the experience with their attentiveness. Despite construction affecting views, the "beautiful location" and "terrific" food make it a memorable dining choice.

We chose the Valentine’s set menu, which included both meat and fish options, along with a glass of champagne. Wanting to share and taste everything together, we ordered one of each option. However, the service quickly went downhill. First, the server never inquired about allergies or dietary requirements. I had to inform him of my intolerance to chili and black pepper. His response? A flat refusal to make adjustments, stating that everything was pre-prepared due to the set menu. I asked if the sauce for the meat could be served on the side, but he declined for the same reason. When the food arrived, the fish options—both starter and main—were genuinely good. But the meat dishes were a disaster. The starter, meant to be served cold, tasted as if it had just been taken out of the fridge—far beyond what one would consider a chilled dish. The fillet was equally disappointing, served cold, not even slightly warm. The service throughout the evening was practically nonexistent. After taking our order, the waiter never offered us a drinks menu or asked if we wanted additional beverages. Our complimentary champagne glasses sat empty and were never cleared or refilled. It took an unreasonably long time for our starters to arrive, and when we finished, the waiter only cleared one of the four plates—leaving the rest of the dirty dishes on the table even when our mains were served. Even more shockingly, when the runner came to serve our main courses, he didn’t clear the table or ask a colleague for help; he simply waited for us to push the dirty plates aside. No one checked back to ask how the food was—otherwise, they would have known about the cold meat. I’m not upset because of the cost. At $220, I know Valentine’s dinners can be pricey. I’m upset because it was money wasted on what should have been a special night but turned into a major disappointment.

Ambiance was nice with the setting sun. Food and service was good. My only issue was the continuous pounding of the repetitious music beat. Boom, boom boom, the same pounding repetitious beat throghout our entire dinner. Made me want to scream. The idea is to RELAX during dinner, not have your heart jump out of your chest. Sorry for the drama, but you asked. Maybe the Marriott powers that be can objectively assess and revise the music at dinner hours (unless it’s a private party for the under 40 crowd.

Service experience excellent. Tuna appetizer and burrata appetizer very good. Very large. But the sea bass, despite tasting delicious was a mine field of bones. Teach the Chef how to de bone a fish please. And look at your clients- do they really want Techno music or something else?

Amazing view on the beach a little overpriced for the seafood that shipped in from around the world. Not local seafood.

We had a very pleasant experience at Veranda. It was a nice place and the service was very good. My husband had the lobster tortellini and I had the sea bass, and we can recommend them both. They had a good variety of wines, but not so many that it was overwhelming.

This restaurant at the Marriot hotel is called The Veranda and is a beautiful location right on the water, but the restaurant on this Friday night is actually named Asado. Perhaps this name change is only for dinner. The menu from Asado is limited and mostly Argentinian BBQ which is beef that was tasty and tender. They did have a fiish and vegetarian dish. The restaurant had guitarists playing Argentinian music that was good but loud making conversation difficult. For dessert try the Salted Caramel Ice Cream in a jar...YUMMY!

Overall a great place to eat. The food is good and the setting is beautiful. Last time I was here I got the lobster stuffed tortellini. It was outstanding! It was 3 tortellini that were huge. They were black stripped tortellini noodles that were delicious. It was why I booked it again. This time it wasn’t near as good. They were smaller and normal looking tortellini. They were a little too tough. It was still good but nothing to write home about. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I would just recommend they go back to their previous tortellini noodles.

I recently dined at Veranda on a Wednesday night, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and outstanding customer service. The staff was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. To our pleasant surprise, the manager even stopped by our table to ensure everything was up to our expectations—talk about going above and beyond! Now, let’s talk about the food. It was absolutely delicious! Being lobster night, we indulged in the freshest, most flavorful lobster dishes I've ever tasted. Each bite was a delight, showcasing the chef's talent and dedication to quality. The menu offered a variety of options, but we couldn't resist the allure of the lobster, and we were not disappointed. Adding to the ambiance, there was live music that night. While it was a bit loud at times, it only enhanced the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant. The combination of great food, excellent service, and lively music created a truly enjoyable dining experience. Overall, Veranda exceeded all our expectations. I can't recommend it enough, especially if you're a fan of seafood. We can't wait to return for another fantastic meal!
