Anniversary dinner. We had reservations at 6 and were promptly seated. The restaurant was noticeably quiet with few patrons in view. We were seated in the dining area with a vantage of the cooking line. The décor and ambiance was pleasant with a refined touch under subdued lighting. Our initial impression was positive and we looked forward to nice dinner. Since it was our anniversary we indulged ourselves in cocktails. I had the signature house margarita ($16) and my wife had the avo-colada ($16). Even though I am adverse to the creeping cost increase of restaurant cocktails I must admit my margarita was well balanced and quite tasty. The avo-colada was a variation of a pina colada and my wife loved it. As an appetizer we ordered the Hamachi Ceviche ($23). The presentation of the dish was appealing, almost photogenic. Hamachi is an excellent choice for ceviche with its tender texture and mild almost buttery flavor. The serrano peppers contrasted nicely with the fish, the pineapple kambucha and orange. I was underwhelmed with the portion size for the price but enjoyed appetizer nonetheless. I probably would not order this again only because I prefer trying different dishes unless something totally wows me. This dish did not wow me. As an entrée my wife ordered the seafood enchiladas ($39) which was a seasonal special and I ordered the Roasted Hamachi Verde ($42). The seafood enchiladas included 3 enchiladas that were well proportioned with filling and made with homemade blue & white masa tortillas. I tasted the dish and thought the tortillas were thick and heavy and distracted from the the dish by overwhelming the flavor profile. Instead of tasting fish I only tasted undercooked masa. My plate was the Cedar Plank Roasted Hamachi Verde. I thought the fish was well cooked and presented well. It included black refried beans and a cilantro or green hued rice on a separate plate. The rice and beans seemed to me to be an afterthought on the separate plating. $147.22

Great concept , setting and aervice. On food stick to Mexican dishes, for example filet tacos great but octopus overcooked and smothered in sauce so it could have been anything

Very impressive setting and vibe upon arrival. Entire staff was congenial and professional. Cocktails were excellent. We had a hard time choosing starters as they all sounded great. We greatly enjoyed the mole sampler. The sliced scallops in chili oil were visually appealing. Flavor was fine but not remarkable. Three entrees ordered were steak relleno, vegetable fajitas, and vegetable relleno. Steak relleno was covered with entirely too much cheese and the flavor was disappointingly bland after removing the cheese. This carnivore felt the veggie version was better. Others enjoyed their meals but short of breathless praise. The side dish of mushrooms was the exception - excellent. With the plethora of eating choices available, I would not be excited to return, especially at the price point. Overall, food was good, but not special. The bar was very, very nice and cocktails enjoyable so would gladly return to enjoy happy hour.

Parking was easy and we were promptly seated for our reserved party of four. The menu is extensive and nicely varied, including intriguing seafood dishes. We enjoyed mocktails, flavored teas, and yummy appetizers while we awaited our mains. Unfortunately those were very slow to arrive. It seemed the kitchen was understaffed, and although capacity had been limited they were having a hard time keeping up during the dinner rush. The mains were solid but not spectacular. Our server was attentive, and we will be back again when we have time for a leisurely meal.

My first visit to this restaurant wasn’t great, but I decided to give it another shot, and I’m glad I did! This time, the experience was much better. As before, the ambiance was beautiful and peaceful, and the food was absolutely delicious. However, the service from our waitress was still just okay, which is something that needs improvement. On the bright side, the assistant manager was very kind and stopped by to check if everything was in order, which was much appreciated. Despite the service hiccup, we had a great time overall. I’m hopeful the service will improve to match the excellent food and inviting atmosphere.

Food is not consistent. The first time we dined the seafood was exceptional quality. The second time it was below average. Hate when that happens. Did not enjoy Verdad second time around at all. Won’t be going back for a while! Update - I was very impressed with the follow up, the team genuinely cares for their customer experiences and took the feedback very positively and want to continuously improve . This has definitely changed my mind about my experience and will look forward to trying it again soon. Thank you Trevor for your follow up!
