Vespaio Restaurant is one of the original South Congress eateries and remains one of Austin's favorite Italian go-to's among locals and visitors. This casual dinner venue is a popular choice for date nights or evenings out with friends, seating every day at 5pm. The interior of Vespaio Restaurant is decorated with ceiling tiles, ceiling plans, vintage pendant lighting, classic table seating, a plethora of wine racks and vibrant accent walls.In addition to a full bar menu, Vespaio Restaurant offers a lengthy selection of mouth-watering and flavorful authentic Italian dishes. Menu items include carpaccio, mixed seafood stew, lasagna, mussels, calamari, spaghetti carbonara, chocolate hazelnut cake, panna cotta and green pasta with shrimp. Everything on the menu is sourced locally and prepared in-house, including the pasta, bread and pastries.

    We enjoyed our time at Vespaio's as we were celebrating a birthday. However, our martini's we ordered were inconsistently made and my pappardelle pasta which is normally my favorite didn't have enough flavor and tasted a little bland. The rest of our party's food was mediocre. I was disappointed in their quality of food.

    Jordan was great. Every dish we ordered was just perfect. We had a very good anniversary celebration and would visit again in the future.

    A little pricy for pasta but always an amazing experience. Love the staff at this restaurant. They are always happy and accommodating. One of my favorite places. ❤️

    Vespaio is always a wonderful experience. Food, service, and wine are always top notch. Loved the Amarone wine to pair with our great pasta dishes.

    Tonight was our first visit to Vespaio, but it definitely won't be our last! Service was top-notch (thank you, Jantzen) and the food was outstanding from the Zuppa and Burrata Antipasti through the Pansoti filled with Butternut Squash, Risotto del Giorno, and Gulf Shrimp Scampi to the Torta Mandarin Nonna. Comfortable atmosphere and relatively quiet for as large as the restaurant is.

    Ricky our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made a great wine recommendation. The restaurant upon arrival was quite loud, but understandably so for a great restaurant. The whole meal was great from start to finish and I will be returning.

    This was our first time here and we will definitely be back! Couldn’t get into Red Ash so the 3 of us decided to try Vespaio. The hostess was great and explained so much about the restaurant and the menu. They have half portions of many pastas so we could share and try more. We ordered 3 small plates and their lasagna. Each one was amazing (and we’re food snobs)! They change up the menu daily and each pasta dish is very unique. Oh and the specialty cocktails?!! Also unique. Service, atmosphere and menu were top notch.
