Amazing food and very reasonably priced. Had to wait slightly too long for our starters but it didn't spoil our meal. Great wine selection too

Compact bistro in Clifton village with relaxed, friendly (but not over-friendly) service. Interesting menu choices, high standard of cooking and earthy flavours in my choices.

Welcoming and smart. Good ambience and few people so we could talk. Music excellent choice, not too loud... with my hearing problem I usually have to ask for it to be reduced. Food just magical presentation and portions perfect size: did not feel too full after 3 courses. Scrumptious pudding. NOT too salty and took notice of my request for no added salt AFTER we had been presented with salt all over the starter.

Went there on a Wednesday night, their BYO night, with a bottle of fine Burgundy, and had a truly wonderful meal: steak tartare to start with, very tasty, properly aged beef with a lovely raw egg yolk hiding away; then a terrific grouse, cooked pink to my idea of perfection, with a little dollop of deeply flavoursome black pudding, some kale, mushrooms and apples. With a bowl of their duck fat chips alongside, and these must be the best chips in the universe. Finally, as it was BYO night, the total bill was quite modest, at just over £60 for two. This may look like just a neighbourhood bistro but it is a really serious restaurant, one of the very best in Bristol.

This is our second visit to Wallfish and the menu is interesting and food very good quality. It I was living in Bristol I would make this a regular haunt.

This was my second visit to Wallfish and while starters and deserts were good value within the price point we were there for the early evening sitting, the main fish course was oversalted and made my partner's meal inedible. Also door was left open resulting in a cold chill in the restaurant.
