In a near-empty house we were placed directly between 2 parties. Food was good, but couldn’t hear well and weren’t able to talk much to each other.

Food was amazing. Wonderfully quaint experience. Extremely quiet. It’s so nice to just sit, talk, and enjoy delicious food without feeling rushed or like a table number. You’re treated like a guest of the family, instead. Definitely going back!

My wife and I went on a date to Wandering Vine after hearing several good reviews about the food, ambience, and service. The food and sides were excellent and our waitress was great. The dining area is as charming as others have noted. Unfortunately, our visit was soured by the actions of the owner upon entering the restaurant. To preface, my wife is a Type 1 Diabetic with a medical alert service dog. Carla, the owner, immediately requested the paperwork for my wife's diabetic alert dog. She stated Kansas laws have become more stringent and she needed to see documentation of training; she continued to state that restaurants in Kansas do not allow emotional support dogs. We informed Carla that my wife's service dog was a certified medical alert dog. Carla insisted that she still needed to see documentation. We entertained her request and I went to check in the car for the binder we keep for emergencies. While I was searching, my wife asked four times what laws Carla was referencing and each time she eluded answering. The excuses included: the health department is "cracking down", other customers may not like dogs, dogs behaviors are unpredictable, and she "makes the rules". My wife replied that this entire conversation inappropriate and against the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Confident in her absurd line of questioning, Carla asked my wife if she had any proof of her condition. My wife replied she has her medical alert bracelet (which she showed), and has an insulin pump and blood glucose meter if that wasn't enough proof. My wife reiterated that this interaction is unlawful and extremely invasive. Per the ADA, two questions are allowed to be asked: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform? That is it! The ignorance Carla displayed is frightening and needs to be addressed. We implore everyone who reads this to learn more about the ADA and regulations of service dogs.

I had the grilled tuna as my main course and it was perfectly seasoned. The purple Japanese sweet potato really brought everything together! My girlfriend had the lobster tail with pasta and bacon, and she loved it too. The pasta had a sweet aftertaste that was delightful! She also did some wine sampling of the sweet wines. She liked them but for $15 you’ll only get 3 wines that are 1/3 full. We both then tried a tart pie that we didn’t really enjoy. The first bite tasted like raw orange peel, it was very bitter. The orange peel taste stays around but isn’t as extreme as the first bite. So if you don’t like tart, don’t get their tart pie (not the actual name but forgot the name).

Wonderful High Tea experience. The owner is so gracious and personable greeting all who enter. Food was a delightful experience. Wonderful music playing… not too loud And our server was very engaging and shared about the wine selections they carry. This is one of favorite go to places for special occasions. The building is beautiful…

The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We have been there a couple of times and both times we have gone I wonder why we don’t go more often. I had the flank steak, asparagus, and crispy smashed potatoes for dinner. My husband had the strip steak, carrots and smashed potatoes. We both loved our dinners. We started with the bread service and calamari and wow, they were both delicious.

Beautiful dining space, friendly service, delicious food. We loved the oysters, lobster cavatelli, and tuna. We were too full for dessert but hopefully we make it back in time to try the seafood tower special. The small caesar was lacking flavor, we added some of the creamy horseradish and lemon from the oysters and that was clutch. Otherwise, wonderful experience overall!
