   The restaurant is in a great location, which is its shining feature. The food was okay (lemon chicken with risotto - chicken was good but accompanying sauce tasted like it came out of a can). My husband had the whitefish and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the service was mediocre. If you are spending $70 a plate, you expect that the waitress will keep an eye on things and keep drinks filled. All glasses at the table were empty before dessert arrived. Ambiance was lovely, the restaurant is laid out in a way that even if it was packed the noise level would be very manageable. It was quiet when we were there, and we watched the water flow by - very peaceful overall!

I can promise you that we use nothing out of a can as it is all prepped at our commissary especially for events such as Valentines Day!    It was a 3 course meal for $69 for Valentine’s Day. There were 4 choices of entrees. We both chose the filet with bacon wrapped prawns. It was delectable, as were the desserts A very wonderful dining experience.

   Weathervane and all of the Stafford’s restaurants are some of the best in Northern Michigan. Weathervane is always part of our Christmas season, with family, friends and guests in town. We also return often throughout the summer season when everyone comes to town.

   The bread service was very good. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. My prime rib could have been warmer. The Calamari was fantastic.

   We dined here for lunch and enjoyed it very much. Everything was very fresh and well prepared. Excellent service and always love the atmosphere. Highly recommend

    Thanksgiving dinner was a plate dinner at Weathervane Restaurant. The salad was great, the turkey dinner was good. It is hard to replicate your Mom's turkey, dressing, and mashed potatoes you grew up with. The presentation for the pumpkin pie was in little aluminum foil "tart" pans. You had more crust and very little pumpkin pie filling. We had a wonderful table, and our server was excellent. We were not rushed, and were able to enjoy conversation with our adult kids.
