Located in the Greengate shopping center in Short Pump, West Coast Provisions offers an inventive approachable American Fusion menu specializing in shellfish, fresh fish, sushi and steak. It has a big city feel with a sleek décor, tall ceilings, large windows, exposed brick, a fireplace, a private dining room and one of Richmond’s largest outdoor patios. We have convenient parking and accept reservations for parties of all sizes. We are currently serving in the dining room and on our patio.

Ok restaurant. Probably won’t go there again. Clean and comfortable seating. Staff was nice. Food choices were kinda weird but seemed like a nice restaurant so we went. So much potential but so little choices. Be prepared to season your own food. I had the rock fish and there was absolutely no flavor. Served with skin on and it was completely inedible. Why serve me that? The polenta was so bad and dry. Inedible. Like a dry oatmeal. The fish tacos were good. Just go across the street and spend less for the same. Calamari was weird. It was “fried” I guess but they drenched it in a sweet sauce and then there was just a soggy calamari. It was cooked well but it was just a soggy sweet calamari. It’s a nice restaurant with a confused kitchen.

John, We are very sorry to hear our kitchen did not meet your expectations. The Rockfish and Calamari are amongst our most popular items on the menu so it sounds like we missed the mark. The Calamari does have a sauce on it but it should be lightly tossed over the calamari and the rockfish should have the skin on but it should be crispy skin. Sometimes people opt to remove the skin if it is not their preference. We would love to invite you back to give us another try.

Great service considering that our dinner was on Valentine’s Day. Recommend the Cioppino, Calamari and grilled oysters… Poke bowl not so much.

We ordered the Sea Bass, the Salmon and the Short Rib Ragout. All were delicious and beautifully presented. We had the Truffle Fries as an appetizer and they were also delicious, could have been slightly crispy. They were flavorful and perfectly salted. Had the Butterscotch Pudding for dessert, oh so good. The single malt scotch was a perfect complement to the butterscotch keeping it from being too sweet but still creamy and delicious.

We ordered a well done steak. After two returns it was still medium rare. We talked to the manager and they comped the meal The chef twice came out and looked at us but said nothing! We had this issue before, and they butterflied the steak and it was perfect. Not now. We love this restaurant and have invited numerous friends. Many happy memories, which makes this review even more painful. Our server did her job, the manager was appropriately kind and respectful. We’ll give it another chance, at some point. We do hope for a better outcome.

Our kitchen unfortunately had an off night, but the manager has already addressed the issue and offered to comp your meal as a gesture of goodwill. Our chefs and cooks do not know the table numbers and do not generally interact with guests. We are sorry if you felt he should have made an appearance at your table, that is the managers role in our organization. While we strive for perfection, there are times we fall short. Given the many positive experiences we've shared with you, we hope that the comped meal serves as an adequate apology and helps us continue to earn your valued patronage.
