   Food wasn’t great. Server was very nice. The wrong food got brought out but quickly changed. Drink from the bar was amazing.

   Ordered drinks Ordered apps Ordered dinner Apps came to the table Food came to the table Drinks came. N Sad trying a flight of bourbon and not really able to experience the flavors of the bourbons with the food at the table. Needless to say we didn’t order a second round. The food was very good.

   Our first visit to Whiskey Cake was decent overall. Although the restaurant has been open for some time, the operation felt a bit clumsy. Our server was polite and friendly but had to return to the kitchen for clarification on both of our menu questions, which slowed things down. The happy hour menu is appealing, featuring $5 drafts, cocktails, and some tasty appetizers. We tried the charcuterie board and tater tots—both were excellent. Our server thoughtfully checked in with us right before happy hour ended to see if we wanted anything else. I ordered another beer, and we finished our meal. However, when the check arrived, I noticed the beers were charged at $10 each instead of the $5 happy hour price. When I asked the server about it, he explained that not all beers are included in the happy hour deal. That would have been helpful to know in advance. To their credit, the manager adjusted the price after the issue was raised. Overall, the entrées were good, the atmosphere was fun, and the menu pricing was reasonable. While it wasn't a flawless experience, we might give them another try—just not anytime soon.

   Decided to eat here on the recommendation of a co-worker. It's where Ida Claire used to be. Menu is similar but with a modern twist. Food was delicious. Drinks can be eclectic. It was noisy. They tried to seat us at the same table as another group of 4 by putting a divider between the tables. We opted to wait to sit at a table for just our group. You have to try their name sake the whiskey cake. Yummy!

   This was our second dining experience at Whiskey Cake. The first time we all orders burgers and they were delicious. So, we took my son, DIL and grandsons for my son’s birthday. I ordered salmon - asked for it medium well - and part of it was not well cooked. It came with some veggies but, in my opinion, rice or potatoes could have been included for the price.My grandsons ordered from the children’s menu - Mac and Cheese. The portions were much too small. Granted it was only about $6 but the portions should be larger - or the server could’ve looked at 7 and 10 year old boys and suggested a larger meal. We wanted to order another side of Mac and Cheese for them but the rest of us were finished eating by the time our server came back around. Other than that, the other meals were fine. If we go back, we’ll be ordering burgers and the kids will be ordering off the main menu.

    My friends and I decided to check out Whiskey Cake for our Christmas dinner since we were curious about it. This place claims to be “sustainable,” with everything made fresh on-site. The vibe was nice, with soft lighting that created a chill atmosphere, and the tables were decorated with repurposed materials. It did get a bit noisy since a lot of folks were having a great time, but hey, it was a Friday night during the holiday season, so it was all good. As for the food, it was pretty average. Two of my friends ordered Rigatoni, which was less creamy than what we usually enjoy. Another friend had a salad with chicken that looked tasty, and I went for the Fondue Burger, cooked “medium” as recommended by the chef. I wasn’t really wowed by the burger since it was a bit bland. The fries were just okay, but I did enjoy the ketchup. The service was friendly and attentive, which was nice. Prices were pretty standard for entrees around St. John’s Town Center, though some items felt a bit overpriced. They do have a Happy Hour with half-price bar snacks and cocktails until 6 PM, which is a nice deal. Dessert: I was impressed with their signature “Whiskey Cake” which was bread pudding with Irish whiskey. Not too sweet & flavor was on spot. All in all, it’s worth a visit if you’re curious about the place or just looking for a spot to hang out with friends.
