   While this was our first visit to White Dog for Brunch, it certainly won't be our last! As was the case with the former establishment, Vickers Tavern, from the moment you walk in, you're welcomed into a warm, comfortable, colorful atmosphere that tells you you're glad you're here. And if you're a dog lover, just look around and try to hold back the "Aws" and smiles. While sipping a crisp Prosecco Mimosa, don't miss the Whipped Ricotta shareable which could easily serve as a yummy, fruity dessert. Then enjoy a generous serving of the creamiest Deviled Eggs. You won't want to leave anything behind, but save room for perfectly poached Eggs Benedict under a zesty Hollandaise, accompanied by savory, freshly made home fries. If all this is any sign, you'll be tempted to peek at the dessert menu. But we opted to sit back, exhale and top the afternoon off with a bold Espresso. Service at White Dog is impeccable, efficient, well orchestrated, knowledgeable and extremely courteous. We were fortunate to have one of the best, so a special shout out to "Tyler A."! Thank you, Tyler, for contributing so much to our enjoyment. Finally, we were not seated in the warm, plush, more subdued room we prefer, and had to compete with the (not-so-quiet) chatter of some younger diners occupied with their selfies and social media sites. Keep it in mind when booking your table. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

   We scheduled for a birthday celebration which turned into a “waiting” celebration. The restaurant seemed very understaffed for the number of reservations they accepted. We waiting 10 mins for our drink order to be taken and the server actually asked us if we were ready to order dinner until he realized there were no drinks in the table. Additionally our coffee was empty by the time they brought out dessert, they wished the wrong person HB and then we waiting 10-15 minutes before we could find someone to ask for a check. Also beware, a credit card fee is automatically added to your bill, since we were paying with cash we had to ask for a revised bill. Food was good although we didn’t receive one of the sides ordered, they brought 4 rolls for 6 people and the cheese plate appetizer was full of “sides” and very little cheese, it was overpriced cashews,half of an apple, and yellow raisins.

   Celebrated my birthday. White Dog gave me a car and a birthday dessert. Server was very busy but attentive. Food was good!

   The food here is amazing. Staff tries hard to deliver excellent service but they really can’t because it’s always so busy that there aren’t enough staff to truly get the service from good to great. I wish they’d invest in some sound absorbing panels or similar solutions because unless you’re going to drink and get really loud it’s a terrible environment to have dinner with your family. I’m reminded of bar days in my 20s when you had to shout at the friend next to you to be heard.

    I used to go to this location when it was Vickers Tavern. White Dog Café has made an amazing transformation of the old building! Huge bar area with some lounge seating and double sided fireplace plus multiple dining room rooms that are cozy and comfortable without feeling cramped or crowded. Good service and excellent food. And I love all the dog related decorations!Looking forward to coming back.
