Neighborhood gem! Features a range of Mediterranean flavors. We enjoyed lamb tajine, chicken couscous, and the mezze. Cozy dining room was full and lively. BYOB, so plan ahead.

Dining here was a blast. The owner and staff are extraordinarily engaging, warm, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious...fresh and creative. The portions are smaller than average for American standards and the dining space is small.. A true gem!!! We will be back.

While looking for a celebratory restaurant to celebrate 2 birthdays, I came across White House Tajine. I made the reservation and then read several reviews where couples were turned away on Valentine's Day even with reservations, so I called to triple check we were on the list and remind them in person we were celebrating 2 birthdays. When we got to the restaurant, we walked into the main dining room but were ushered upstairs. In that small dining room, the walls are draped in fabric with the decor seeming to be a little tired. We started with a small mezze which was an okay size for four although we could have used more pita bread. The 5 dishes in the mezze were a good variety, and I especially enjoyed the baba ghanoush. My husband had the Kefta Tagine which he said was good although a little under seasoned. I liked the Chicken Tagine as it came out hot and juicy although it too could have used more seasoning. One of our friends was not happy with his chicken cous cous while his wife had the lamb kabob. She said it was good although dry. Because we were upstairs, the servers had to constantly run up and down the stairs, so they kept opening the front door. As our table was right next to the stairs, throughout the meal I kept jumping up from my seat to dash down the stairs in order to close the door since they kept leaving it open. No one seemed to care the cold air was blowing in through the open front door, and I kept having to ask the servers to please close the door. It also took a long time to get our entrees, and people who were seated after us appeared to get theirs well before us. At the end of the meal, there was not one acknowledgment for the real reason we were there--to celebrate 2 birthdays. Overall, interesting food and a money-saving BYOB, but just an okay experience.

Food is delicious ! Staff is gracious. This restaurant has a very small kitchen. Be prepared to wait.

Our first time. A party of 2 we were seated at a table that was maybe 24" round. Good that we are not big eaters for it was a little tight and the tables in general are tightly packed-in. A nice feature is the chilled glassware for your BYOB fare. The owner/waiter was extremely friendly, genuinely and or humorously interacting with diners. The seating does feel a little cramped if that is something that would bother you. We had a Mezze sampler platter and an order of grilled Shrimp cabobs. Everything was quite yummy and for us that was enough food. If a group of 4, I would recommend the large Mezze platter but for two medium was fine. Definitely need a reservation. More than 4 will be difficult and more than 6 near impossible. Asked if we wanted desert we declined. The owner/waiter said the Baklava was the best in the world. Amused and I love the stuff but try not to eat it for waistline reasons, I said we would take an order to go. When it shortly arrived to the table he said: compliments of the house and gave the check without baklava charge; the check is computerized. Very efficient. We were each given a 2" square, diamond shaped actually, serving. Once home, we sample one piece. Very light and flakey, super flavorful nuts, and not smothered in honey. The latter mostly only in the base crust. Not sure about best in the World but for sure it was a worthy contender, especially if heavily honey-socked versions are less to your liking. We will go again, probably with another couple so as to have a bit larger table space. Anxious to try the goat Tanjine next time. G
