We are a small, family run restaurant since 2002 specialising in carefully sourced Aberdeen Angus beef from Scottish small highland farms, cooked simply but with flair and attention to detail.
Our emphasis is on high quality local ingredients and fresh produce from the best of local suppliers. Beef is selected, prepared and hung for us by Award wining "John Gilmour" of Macmerry master butchers since 1946. Fresh fish are delivered daily by Calum Sinclair and J.K Thompsons. West coast Mussels are delivered fresh daily by "Sea Mcgee". Our venison comes from wild Perthshire deer, lamb from the Scottish Borders. Artisan and farmhouse British cheeses are supplied by renowned Edinburgh cheesemonger, Iain Mellis and dairy produce from Fife Creamery. We take pride to cook everything fresh in our own kitchen daily.
We have outside seating arrangements for walk-Ins only.

Great service and great steaks. Well worth a visit but pre-book to ensure you get a table.

We are a family from Germany and were in Edinburgh for a few days. We only found this restaurant by coincidence. We all thought it was fabulous, everything was really well done. You could tell straight away that they put a lot of heart and soul into cooking and looking after their guests. It was really super good, we felt like we were in our favorite restaurant at home. Simply great, you should take it with you when you are in the city. Wir sind eine Familie aus Deutschland und waren ein paar Tage in Edinburgh. Wir fanden dieses Restaurant nur durch Zufall. Wir alle haben es sagenhaft gefunden, alles war super gemacht. Man hat auf anhieb gemerkt das hier mit viel Herzblut gekocht und die Gäste beint wird. Das war wirklich super gut, wir haben uns so wie in unserem Stammrestaurant zu Hause. Einfach Toll, sollte man mitnehmen wenn man in der Stadt ist.

Fabulous food, well prepared and tasty. Friendly and attentive staff. Excellent all round service from an independent restaurant.

Excellent steaks cooked perfectly rare. Fresh seafood - not overcooked or left sitting pre-prepared in the kitchen. Staff charming. Atmosphere cosy and calm. Will definitely return many times.

Really excellent. Steak and everything cooked to perfection. Table for 3 that straddles the front door not ideal. Otherwise fantastic.
