   I have booked my wedding venue here. There was an event on so decided to have Sunday lunch with the family, I’ve ate here before and the food has always been lovely, and it was today but the service let it down. The restaurant was half full. Waited around 25 mins for the food to arrive and a further for the seasonal veg & extras. Children’s meal was served last. By the time everything came our mains weren’t the hottest. Everything tasted good but I think the service could have been better.

   Lovely bar restaurant. Good service and food came quickly despite being extremely busy. The food itself was well prepared. Tasty and filling.

   I had the pie of the day and was the best gravy Ihave ever tasted. Breakfast was delicious with lots of hot food choices. I had a glass of Merlot and a rarity was served with the wine and glass a perfect temperature. Perfect espresso martinis.

   We’ve always fancied stopping here for food when passing and finally we did. However it was quite a disappointment. Firstly there were no craft ales, and out of stock on many bottled beer. We asked if everything was on the menu and it was confirmed as all ok. However after we all ordered the poor waiter had to tell us that there were no mussels for one of our party. My husband and I had the fish bite sandwich albeit he ordered a stottie but it came as an open sandwich. To be fair the waiter did offer to change it but he decided not to. He also had the soup, tomato and lentil and it was pretty tasteless. Our fish bites had too much batter and greasy. Nothing to p do with the delightful young man that served us, he was the only good thing. So disappointing and won’t call again.

   This was not a good experience at all. Slow service Flat beer Cold and uncooked food Very disappointing

   They must be doing something right being my third visit, but first special occasion. However, I am still not disappointed at the service offered and, as expected, satisfied. Well done!

   Food was of good standard. Pity about the bar manager who was rude from the outset. He then refused to serve us drinks after we had settled our table bill (over £300) as we were going to an event next door. After complaining to the manager we and others got served. We have all been put off going back which is a shame!

    Roast dinner was outstanding. The flavours in the meat, the veg, the gravy, an absolute delight and one of the best roast dinners i have ever eaten. The Crepe desert was a big let down. Cold crepes that were tough and tasteless. They were left, we werent asked by our server so made no comment.
