The oldest remaining structure in Denver’s iconic Union Station neighborhood, historic Hose House No. 1 was one of the first fire stations in Denver. Established as a volunteer fire station in 1881, before the City of Denver created a paid fire department, it has been lovingly restored and re-imagined as an iconic, inclusive kitchen & bar.

Named after one of Denver’s earliest fire foremen, Redwood “Woodie” Fisher, Woodie Fisher Kitchen & Bar reflects the historic building’s symbol of heritage, quality, and character. Th place itself is nice. Historic firehouse building, nice bar section and good LoDo location. The food ranged from horrid and uneatable (that was the chicken pot pie) to marginal (pizza) to decently good (hamburgers and turkey sandwich). The chicken pot pie was so bad it was returned to the kitchen. Beer selection is pretty weak and quite limited given what you might anticipate from the vibe and decor. There is a happy hour advertised on the website. Happy hour pricing was ignored at the restaurant. Was in a hurry to get to the Nuggets game so didn’t bother asking why. Service was somewhat slow but the waiter was friendly. For all of the good places to go in this part of Denver, don’t waste your time going here.

Decent food - nothing special. Drinks and service were great. It was a good spot for an NYE dinner. If you're looking for a not super overpriced spot with ambiance, this is a solid option.

New Years Eve was a struggle here. I believe they were short-staffed, but there was a long line to even check in with the host all evening. There were about a dozen people waiting when we walked in for our reservation, and it took them 20 minutes to be greeted and seated before we could check in to be seated ourselves. Service was slow and staff was rarely around. One of two apps we ordered for the table never arrived, and drinks didn’t come until just before our mains. It took 45 minutes to settle our check. Food was fine but none of us really enjoyed it. We’re not a scrutinizing group, but there seemed to be a difficulty with the core concept of being a restaurant at play here.

We had a lovely Christmas Day dinner while visiting Denver. Justin was so warm and welcoming. Thank you for helping us to celebrate while away from home. Cheers!

What a treat! Able to have conversations , we could hear! Wait staff was delightful. Food was so very good! Value was great. We would highly recommend!

We arrived and were properly greeted and lead to a booth. Water was provided and our drink orders were taken. Our waitress Ariel was simply outstanding. She was attentive and friendly and a delight to converse with. The food was delicious and the drinks were fantastic as well. Everything about our dinning experience was top notch.

Typically it’s a good experience and I always bring my family when they visit town. I was disappointed to learn they did away with their happy hour food and happy hour drinks weren’t offered anymore unless sitting at the bar. Our server also was really underwhelming with providing service or seeming to want to be there.

Really pretty disappointing experience .. Limited menu, unless you want a burger or sandwich... and pricey. $18 for 3 small meatballs that twice were served only warm, not hot as they should be. Service and food delivery was VERY slow. I so wanted this to be an excellent local place, it use to be, but it no longer is. You also need to update your website to be current on items such as happy hour, and local promotions. I will give it another try, and hope they can get their game back together.
