Food was delicious and service was outstanding. Drinks from the bar were good, but small and not very strong.

This was my partner and i’s two year anniversary and when I made the reservation it asked me to say what the occasion was and I picked anniversary. When we got to our table they had a lovely card from the staff wishing us happy anniversary and a red rose. The whole night staff members came up to us wishing us happy anniversary and it was very nice. Our server was so nice and he went through the menu with us very thoroughly and accommodated my gluten allergy very well. Overall terrific experience

We enjoyed it. It would’ve been nicer if our dishes came out together, but not a big deal.

The food and drinks at Wren were very nice. We were there at 5:30pm and told our waitress at the very start that we had a show at Cap One Hall at 7pm and was there anything we should or shouldn't order in order to make that time. She said everyone there was going to the same show and it wouldn't be a problem at all. The restaurant is in a giant hall and tables are very spread out so there is no need to overhear other conversations, but it still felt warm and comfy. It was a very nice atmosphere. So, we started with a Toronto Twist and Tokyo Girl Cocktails. Delicious. We ordered what we considered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees, but the menu doesn't distinguish plates that way. We were there restaurant week, but that menu just added a dessert that didn't appeal to either of us. The maguro tartare with tuna sashimi over avocado was delicious. The rice sesame crisps I think were supposed to be used to scoop up the tartare, but they were placed at the other end of the table and we didn't see them until much later. They were quite good. The Kinoko Tempura of maitake and chanterelle mushrooms with a truffle creme fraiche dipping sauce was certainly crispy. It is very difficult to keep tempura crispy. My husband loved it. I found the mushroom and dipping sauce tasteless but not unpleasant. Plates come out when cooked, so we had a rest between and ordered a second Toronto Twist and glass of Pinot Gris. The wine was very good, colder than it should be but it was perfect for our next dish: Gindara, miso marinated black cod with chili garlic eggplant. This was excellent. Our 4th dish, Wagyu Fried Rice, despite inquiries, didn't come until we were paying the bill. We had them pack it to go and ran out. We ate it late that night and the beef was certainly tender. My husband loved it. All in all we liked the atmosphere and food and drinks and would go again if going to the Cap One Hall.

Wren is highly overrated and overpriced. Not sure what all the hype is about. I ordered black cod and it was pretty average. My daughter’s beef tenderloin came out cold and very unevenly cooked, and potatoes and mushrooms had no salt or spices. They also didn’t bring out our entrees at the same time, so by the time my daughter’s cold beef came, I was done eating. No one came to check up on us, ask if we needed anything else or refill our water. The portions were small and we were so hungry afterwards, we had to go grab some more food. Really disappointing experience.
