Delicious! Beautifully curated from everything as simple as the flatware to complex as the cuisine. Add some sound baffling and work on the timing out of the kitchen and it will be perfect. Bravo to Bryan and Michael on a wonderful new restaurant!

The atmosphere was breathtaking. Absolutely gorgeous architecture and attention to detail in the decor. I particularly loved the candelabra on our table with real burning tapers. The menu has a nice balance of dishes for every taste and plenty of options to choose from. Each couple in our party of 4 shared a Cobb salad before our entrees arrived, but one would have sufficed as it was that generous. Salmon, swordfish, filet mignon and ribeye were ordered by our party and each of us was very pleased with the presentation. Dishes were well-seasoned and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The side dishes were very tasty (the sweet potatoes were divine) and as the menu clearly states, plenty enough to share with the table! As expected, the extensive cocktail and wine list complement any menu selection. After dinner, the kitchen surprised us with a slice of Wye Oak (if you love chocolate, this one is for you), and what we could only describe as a deconstructed lemon meringue pie. Both were artfully done (those tart little lemon halves looked like the real thing!) and a grand finale to a fantastic dining experience. Our server, Ben, was very attentive and professional, as were all the employees we encountered that evening. Although we didn’t get to meet him personally, Brian Voltaggio did make a brief appearance in the dining room, so that was cool! We are excited for this old-new treasure’s place in Downtown Frederick and look forward to returning for another fabulous dining experience!

Great new eating venue for Frederick. Love the decor and keeping many of original features. Food was good. Service was friendly, efficient, and polished for a new restaurant.

Food and drinks are amazing!!! Service was a tad slow at times, but overall good. Way too noisy, though - needs some noise control.

We enjoyed dinner overall. We had reservations for 6 in the East room in hopes of avoiding the noise from the bar area but we were seated in the main dining room. It was uncomfortable to hold a conversation. Cocktails and mock tails were enjoyable. Blossom martini was exceptional. Food was good, nicely seasoned and well prepared. The tartar appetizer was a standout and I would order it again. We also tried the shrimp and grits and cheese ravioli, both were acceptable. Cobb salad was good. Swordfish piccata was delicious. Steaks were all very good. Only negative was the volume and the cocktails took a bit too long to arrive. Server was very nice , knew the menu well and made us feel special.

We follow the Voltaggio brothers on tv shows and have eaten at a handful of their restaurants over the years so we were excited to give Wye Oak a try. The food and ambiance was amazing. Our server was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of great suggestions that more or less became our entire dining experience. Service started out very attentive but as our evening progressed we did see a decline in such, given that this restaurant just opened kinks like this are expected. I would definitely come back again!

This restaurant is not ready for prime time. Drinks (which were basic) took more than 30 minutes each round. Our waiter actually gave up on offering anything other than wine. The food was generally ok. Our appetizers (shrimp and grits and ravioli) were great. Entrees were not — the burger was a salt lick which we had to send back — which we never do. Prime rib was edible and average (though above average in price). The ambiance and seating were weird — like a Chilis in a church. Our table was in a service hallway. No one checked in on us very much or seemed to care that the experience was dismal. The managers seemed to know we were having a rough ride and avoided us like the plague. On top of it all, it was my birthday. I didn’t expect anything for that — even an acknowledgment— and I certainly didn’t get anything — which was fine. But why ask when taking the reservation? MYOB if you’re not going to be bothered. The little monogrammed box they brought the check in was nice. If only the rest of the experience was as thoughtful as the part where they take your money. Back to the old reliable Tasting Room.

Nice ambience but kinks still need to be worked out. Took nearly 40 minutes to get drinks after inquiring several times. Waiter blamed it on busy bar.. glass of wine and beer take that long? Waiter was overwhelmed and forgetful. Food was above average and presentation was creative. Overall a nice addition to Frederick but not a weekly destination but rather special occasion. Bar is distinctive as it incorporates the former altar of the Visitation chapel. The Voltaggio brothers continue their inventive approach to dining.
