We are committed to sourcing the very finest ingredients from Hawaii's many talented farmers, fisherman, and purveyors. A wide range of beer, wine, nihonshu (sake), shochu, chuhai and highballs are available to complement our Yakitori.

We have been going to this restaurant since it opened. Robert the owner was an amazing host and the restaurant felt upscale. When I went last night, as soon as I sat down I felt a difference. First they never took our drink order and we felt rushed to order quickly to get their special. They have reduced the menu and taken away the best dishes( I expect they took more expensive ingredients ). They really are pushing the set course. The previous owner Robert would have never given his customers dirty paper menus. I know things change and not always for the good. This was amazing experience with amazing food. Now it is just another place for tourists. The staff was still really friendly, but I will not return.

Decided on the omakase which is 13 courses (10 courses on happy hour). It’s a perfect combination set if you are looking to try multiple skewers. Each skewer was so full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The service was exceptional as they made sure to explain each dish when brought to the table and how to best enjoy it. We also added on the scallop skewer and grilled Caesar salad on top of the set meal. Can’t go wrong with Suntory beer on draft and they also have a nice sake selection available. Don’t be fooled with only 13 courses, you will leave the restaurant stuffed! We had to get take home containers for our last two courses. Sesame pudding was the perfect way to end our meal. Highly recommend Yakitori Hachibei. Please note when making a reservation, there is a $20 no show/cancellation fee pp.

Everything was amazing! We loved that they have a 13-course omakase option because we could try a little bit of everything and it was so filling! The servers were also very attentive and brought each course out at the perfect times. This is definitely a restaurant we’ll be coming back to again!

Food was excellent and restaurant ambiance was perfect in every way. Our server was friendly and attentive. My only complaint is the yakitori chef was very stoic and almost uncomfortably unfriendly. We sat at the bar seating area so he was right in front of us the whole time we dined but he never once acknowledged us, let alone smile or even asked how we were enjoying the meal. Maybe his English wasn’t so great but whatever the reason, a smile head nod would have done the trick.

They had a wonderful happy hour menu! We enjoyed the omakaze. The service was good and the atmosphere was very nice. Parking was easy any a local parking lot about a block away.
